The first sign this was going to be a good experience was when we turned up and the car park was full, we were lucky to find a table, a nice lady and her little girl were just leaving. We had the burger for our lunch which was one of the best burgers I've ever had and the chilli jam was gorgeous! I'm afraid I couldn't resist a bit of cake afterwards as they all looked so good, I can definitely recommend the double espresso cake, so good. Great service, nice staff and lovely food. Thank you!

We had a wonderful snack (soup and a paté) today. Went there for the first time, it won't be the last! Place was full and had to wait a short while but the staff brought a chair for my wife to sit without being asked, as they saw she had a stick. Very friendly staff, what a pleasant change!

Best to reserve a table but even if you don't the staff do a fantastic job of seating people as fast as possible by asking who's willing to share. The view is stunning and if the tides right you can watch the seals basking on the rocks. Food is fantastic and imho afternoon tea for two at £18 is a bargain and not to be missed. Oh and free WiFi

Fantastic tea room with stunning views over the Brough of Birsay. The high tea is excellent and extremely good value for money. I will definitely be visiting again and will highly recommend to friends.

Fab-u-lous! Best tearoom/cafe we've found on our holiday this week. Great seascape views, seal and bird watching from your table. Simple, but very good food and the best tea loaf around

Best Mother's Day tea EVER! Beautifully presented, soft sandwiches and great selection of homemade cakes, and cheerful staff, even at the end of such a busy day - they even arranged the sunshine!

You need a reservation but you will not be dissatisfied. The gang at Birsay Bay Tearoom made this our Orkney best stop. Top food and baking and a group of people that are outstanding. Thank you for making our day and such a great memory for our trip. The Canadians.

Very good bakers. The scones were excellent and went very nicely with the Scottish breakfast tea.

Wonderful cafe at Birsay. Had the balti sweet potato soup with cheese scone for 5 £. Great flavour in the soup with Indian spice and the cheese scone the best I've had in Scotland ( and I've had a few). Friendly staff, great views. Not open every day so was lucky on a Monday.

This tea room is a perfect gem almost in the middle of nowhere. Amazing cakes, cream teas, sandwiches, soups. The cafe is open and airy. Great views. Food comes on very cute China and the tea cups are dainty and sweet. Just lovely. Possibly consider calling for a reservation, cafe fills quickly

They were getting ready to close when we got there , but still lots of people. The coffee, Queen Victoria sponge cake was to die for . The view from the window, looked out to the water. Best of all they grow a lot of their own veg for restaurant use ,and they also sell the veg . Yummy

We arrived, and the cafe was having a few issues with mains water - out with their control. We managed to get seated quickly because of this. We had soup & cheese scone - lentil & lemon soup was very tasty. The Billionaires tray bake is fabulous. Outstanding views of the countryside. Booking ahead is a wise plan.

Beautiful café tea room with stunning views of the sea. They serve up some fantastic food, but their speciality s are the cakes. Make sure you leave enough room to sample some. Absolutely delicious 😋

Booked for lunch yesterday. The tea room is in a great location. Due to it's popularity I had a slight wait for a table, but that didn't matter. The menu had a good selection of lunch time favourites as well as cakes and bakes. Staff and service are very efficient. I would recommend a visit. Due to its popularity, make sure you book a table on its website to avoid disappointment.

Nice little tea room. It's very popular so it would be a good idea to book a table in advance. We were lucky and turned up on the off chance and got a table by a window. It also had binoculars to view Birsay. How nice is that. The tea and cakes were lovely. And the staff were lovelier still! All good 😎 👍 👍 👍
