Hidden Gem!! Really lovely food, tasty and cooked with fresh ingredients. Portions are quite small so they should be treated as tapas. Lots of vegan options!! Nice decor but temperature inside was a bit low.

Nice, cosy restaurant with great atmosphere. Good, quality food, the egg hopper was delicious, the goat curry was a little bit too spicy for me. Normal portions, reasonably priced. The service was a bit confusing, the waiter came to our table and asked if we were ready to order, we said yes and before we could tell him our order he left for another table... same confusion with the payment as well... Good experience overall, but there's space for improvements.
Different cuisine, never had Sri Lankan food before but was pleasantly suprised. The chicken wings were tasty. The cocktails there were very good as well. Worth going to try different dishes.
The flavours where definitely all very different and new so worth a try but the Sri Lanken spiced chicken wings came without any spice (they should’ve been the spiciest) and the food in general got cold after only a couple of minutes. The portions where small but were filling! The lady who served us was lovely (JS). The cocktails were very interesting worth the try, and enjoyed the beach boy most with its sweet pineapple flavour.
This place is so pretty servingShrilankan street food in tapas bowl. All the dishes were so good and flavourful in its own way. Staff service was good. We over ordered as well keeping in my small portions.
We LOVED the Sri-Lankan Bottomless Beach Brunch at @thecoconuttreeuk - it's still on until September 30th, and then, let's hope for more seasonal BBs 😍👏🏼
You get to choose two plates from their menu: one main and on side or hopper or short eats, with an option to upgrade to bottomless food.
Are you wondering what the heck a "hopper" is?! Yeah, so was I! Well, it's goodness in form of a coconut milk bowl-shaped pancake with coconut sambol, seeni sambol (caramelised onions with a hint of cinnamon) & lunu miris (Sri Lankan salsa) and a fried egg. You mash it all together and roll it up.
So good 😍👏🏼
For our mains, we had
Hot Butter Calamari
Sri-Tato > roast potatoes slightly fried and spiced Sri-Lankan style
Prawn Curry
Rotti and
Lamb Cutlets
The bottomless drinks options are:
Rio Rumble, Beach Boy, St. Colombo, Processo, and Beer
Slots are 2hrs and the refills were quick and individually (I learned recently how important I find this as it adds too much pressure on others if the whole table has to have their drinks empty before any are being topped up, big no no..)
Price pP: £35.00
Fantastic Sri Lankan restaurant just tucked back from the canal. We went for the cocktail brunch and apart from trying so many special cocktails the team just get bringing dish after dish of amazing food. I would highly recommend this destination, its a superb experience.
Very friendly staff and delicious Sri Lanka food. Unique flavours and amazing cocktails. Too many good options, it is worth booking in advance and going in a group (4+)
The coconut turmeric latte is divine and my favourite ❤️
I would not be deceived by the small tapas servings, they still make for a yummy filling meal😋
Honestly what a phenomenal restaurant! The staff were amazing particularly Adi and Jonathan! The food was perfect, every dish and plenty of options for gluten free persons like myself. The drinks were spectacular on their own too from the house wine to the cocktails! We went with a group of six and next time I'm taking at least twelve, this place deserves your custom no doubt about it.
I’m not just saying it. But mad ting. The food is by far the best food I’ve eaten in a long while. The flavours are ridiculously tasty. Every mouthful is a slice of heaven. You know it’s good food when it fills your belly and you don’t feel stodgy and tired afterwards. Would highly recommend. The service and the music was spot on. 11/10 ps food was too good to take a picture got stuck right in. The rest is coming home with us
We booked this restaurant after seeing the deal on Wowcher which allows six plates to share & a cocktail or soft drink each for only £24! Neither of us had ever tried Sri Lankan food and I would like to say it was an incredible experience. All the flavours worked together and tasted amazing, the cocktails were also sooo nice. I would 100% come back.
- If you aren't that keen on spice then it might not be for you, but there are a lot of dishes with coconut milk that sound mild however our choices weren't these!
We had an egg hopper, chicken curry, basmati rice, curried chicken kotthu and kale & radish sambol. We didn't have the 6th dish which I think was down as condiments? But we were stuffed anyway.
Also to note and avoid disappointment if you have the Wowcher deal it's a set menu to choose from not the main menu :)
Exceptional value for money with flavours that will tantalise any gastronomic taste bud. I would recommend the ’Can’t decide’ this will allow the staff to mix a selection of dishes. Realty, seriously…. If you love to experience a a cuisine delight, then believe me… this is a ‘must ‘ sensational food, friendly service in an ambient atmosphere. I will definitely come back.
Very good food. Make the pumpkin curry for sure with the egg hopper. The milo pudding was okay okay. Definitely coming back for other dishes too.

Walked in without a reservation, and were lucky enough that they found a way to seat us, in spite of being very busy. It did take a while for us to be able to place our order, but once she was aware we hadn't been helped, the waitress was so helpful and kind. Dishes are served tapas style, in small portions, and that is exactly what you want from a place like this: an opportunity to try lots of things in one visit. Every morsel we tried was delicious. The hoppers and goat curry were especially great! I wish we were in town for longer; so we could go back and try every single dish on the menu.
First time having Sri Lankan food. It tasted fresh and was delicious and distinct in its flavours compared to other foods. A variety of dishes are available, which caters for many dietary needs. Lots of vegetarian and vegan dishes as well as fish and meat. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The food portions are served in a tapas-like style so 4-5 dishes per person will make up a full meal. A wide selection of drinks are served. The prices were also reasonable. The only downside was that the dishes are served as they are made and as we were a large group, some of the group had to wait a while before they received their full order. Some of their food had cooled down by the time it all arrived. It would have been better to serve the meals according to each persons order. Definitely worth another visit.
We ordered the Hoppers (Appam), Meat Kothu prawns coconut curry, porotta, king prawn fried rice and the calamari fry. Food was good and flavorful. It did remind us of home. The service was great too. They did take a £6 service charge which was unusual.
