So before I booked the restaurant the reviews scared me slightly as they weren’t as positive as the food looked. However, upon entering it was clear that I had nothing to worry about. The front of house were so attentive and gave us a large enough table to entertain the little ones. When I read the menu there was so many interesting things that I ended up requesting to have artichoke (which is only featured on the menu to accompany a chicken dish) as a side dish with bone marrow sauce to accompany the blood Mary fries and the chef was more than happy to accommodate. On top of that, the homemade nachos were moreish yet just enough to leave you satisfied, plus the heat level in the pico de gallo was spot on. The arrancini with mint mayo was perfection, the mint mayo alone should be bottled up and sold separately, it’s that good. My partner had the short rib burger that was so juicy and the cheese sauce was not like the regular burger cheese you would expect but it was so flavourful and smooth, best burger he’s ever had. The kids meals were better than we expected, as chicken tinders are generally not that exciting but my youngest who is incredibly fussy with food ate them all and thoroughly enjoyed them so it was a win. After almost trying everything on the menu we were too full for a dessert but we will be back and would highly recommend this restaurant.
Sidebar, the bathrooms were spotless and had the loveliest scent of penhaligons.
It must be said that the restaurant does not feel like or look like you’re sat in a bathroom it has an intimate feel and the jazz artwork is quite nice too.
This place is just to die for. From the concept, to the atmosphere, to every single last dish - there's not a single criticism I could even eke out. Definitely went a bit overboard, but would have been just as satisfied ordering half of what we ordered. The staff were friendly and on the ball, and the vibe of the restaurant was a perfectly balanced between fun / comfortable and just a little bit elegant. The baked alaska was a definite highlight - don't skip dessert if you visit!
A really lovely atmosphere, dark and chilled. Wonderful service and delicious food. Really great value and not your usual run of the mill hotel restaurant. Highly recommend!
Thank you Team for looking after us 🤩
Never realised this restaurant/bar even existed, but walked in Friday and very pleasantly surprised. Drinks were really nice and had a really good vibe to it. Can't wait to go again! Only had drinks but will come back again for food.
Issac's is just a little slice of perfect in an otherwise busy and bustling area of Birmingham, the food is always exemplary, the service spectacular and the atmosphere although quite noisy this time around was still great!
If I could change one thing about this restaurant would be smaller round tables really aren't suitable for the dining experience.
We came for dinner for the first time for our anniversary on Thursday, the restaurant is so beautiful. Even walking to the toilets feels super fancy, everything looks great and in a weird way, makes you feel like you're on holiday walking through the lobby part - which I love.
The food was excellent, all staff were so nice and welcoming.
We will definitely be back, well worth the money.
Fantastic everything, location, staff and food a fantastic hidden gem
Very spacious and airy. The cocktails could not be faulted, neither could the food. Would highly recommend this venue.
Had a great meal here. Service was excellent. The fish platter was amazing. Second time here and the meal was just as good. Had the chicken and waffles with maple syrup and it was delicious.
I think I can quite honestly say that Ruben offered some of the nicest, attentive and just genuine waiter service that we've likely received! He was absolutely brilliant, which added to our experience because the food was also great! The crabcakes were crabby lol, so lots of crab in there and fresh flavours... the wings were meaty, saucy and quite sumptuous... my main of the breaded cod with the grits, omg 😍 the sauce that was underlining all of that was sensational! My friend had the meatballs and perhaps that was a bit of a letdown as that didnt pack all of that flavour like the other dishes... I tried to finish it but the meat was a little too rare for me... the truffle and parmesan fries were lovely... lastly the pecan pie with toffee sauce and ice cream was 🤤😍... I can't wait to go back - really plush settings that transport you out of Birmingham and into a fancy New York eatery!
