We have been here a couple of times before they made new changes to their menu. They have installed fridges by the front where customers can grab what ever they want for all you can eat hot pot. They also have fruits and dessert selection and starters now. Sauces are also all you can scoop. Their ice cream machine is now in use! There is also a drinks machine where you can pay for all you can drink. It is a massive change and my family were very excited and happy with it!
We went on a Wednesday evening and it was not too hectic. I expected everyone to rush and grab everything but everyone was not fighting against each other. The food on the fridges were refilled every now and then and staff were eager to serve you.
The soup were good as usual and we also ordered their lamb sticks on the side which we always enjoyed. The quality of the meat cuts are different from before and only a few options and the same with the meat/fish balls.
Overall it was a good experience, we really like this new changed and my family is excited to come back.
For an 1hr 30 mins all you can eat, this place is the place to be. At around £26 per head with items such as lamb rolls, squid, veg, fruit, ice cream , dipping sauces, and so on for hot pot I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The only thing I will point out is there is no table service as it is a buffet style. However we left Happy lamb as very Happy lambs ourselves, content and ready for the long journey home.
This was an absolutely amazing experience!!! I took my mom here for her birthday meal and it was our first time ever trying hot pot. The welcome we got was lovely. The young girl who served us was so lovely and attentive. She explained everything to us and told us if we checked out before 5 we'd save money which we really appreciated. All the food was lovely (especially the chef selected lamb) and ad it was all you can eat it was great value for money. I highly recommend this place to anyone. 10/10
Have a chance to eat here after a long time ago, they changed all the menus to “All you can eat” (no a la carte anymore). POV The broth was tasty and flavourful as always, but the quality of the meat was dropped because there were only a few options to choose from. However, the sauce bar, snacks, and drinks were included in the buffet price. It was pretty impressive for me because every time I came here I paid 30£ ++ but this time it was only 20£.

Fantastic for a shared lunch, £20 for all you can eat is a great price for the quality you get. Good selection of meats, veg and addins for the hotpot and sauce dipping Station has a good mix of flavours
This was our first time. We got a few off looks but I'm assuming we looked "lost" as we were then given forks (didn't need them) and once we settled in the looks either stopped or we were too engrossed in our food to care. To the young man who taught us about the history of hot pot, thank you for you kindness and your food recommendations
Booked a table for 3pm on a Monday, not alot of people in their but music and decor made a good atmosphere. Staff were friendly and took care of us. The broth was delicious! The medium was very hot!! And I love hot 🔥 so go for this rather than the hottest! The menu tells you how long to cook each item for in the broth and and the flavours we're amazing! The staff keep topping up your broth also. I'm definitely going to come back here. Everything in the pictures plus 4 drinks came to approx £67 well worth the money in my opinion 😌 and we ate everything 😍
The best hotpot experience I have had in the UK to date. Everything was super fresh and the broth was delicious. Well worth the price; 10/10 would recommend
I've been to a ton of different hot pot places. I'm usually quite picky when it comes to hot pots due to the varying degrees of meat quality and freshness. Happy Lamb was exceptional. The meat & fish was fresh, tasty and more-ish. I especially enjoyed the mussels. (Make sure to check allergy requirements with staff first.)
The table service was quick and professional. You can ask the staff anything, they're more than happy to help.
It was £23.99 per head (lunch), all you can eat for 90 minutes. This is by far the best value of any hot pot I've tried when comparing the price against the quality of food/service.
Definitely worth a visit and great for large groups but make sure to book before hand!
The service wasn't upto par with the hotpot restaurant around the corner.
The dipping selection was slim. I would like more variety.
However presentation was lovely and the flavour of the food itself was very nice. I had set menu B for 2, With chicken and tomato broth.
First time trying Chinese hot pot, the staff were very helpful in guiding me. Ordered the medium hot Mongolian chicken bone broth (which was very robust in flavour) with some beef and mushroom platters and sides of rice, spring onions and seafood soy sauce. There was a note in the table telling you how long to cook each type of food so no problems for a newbie. Everything was delicious and I worried that I’d over ordered but the slow pace of cooking in batches at the table meant I could eventually clear my plates. A brilliant experience and would definitely return.
Dining at Happy Lamb Hot Pot in Birmingham was nothing short of a culinary journey back in time and a testament to exceptional flavors. The broth, reminiscent of grandma's savory bouillon, set the stage for a delightful meal. But as the name suggests, it was the lamb that stole the show, filling our table with unparalleled joy. The cherry on top was the promotion, which offered outstanding value for our party of four. The waitstaff deserve special mention, providing impeccable service that would easily merit a 10 out of 5 if possible. I'm eagerly counting the seconds until my next visit, hoping for another chance to immerse myself in this exquisite dining experience
A very happy food adventure in happy lamb!
The meat quality is extremely good, especially the beef and lamb, best partner of hot pot!!
Never forget to have two basic soup, one for meat, one for drinking!
Nothing much to say really. Extremely good value and taste. Please come. You won't make a mistake. Best hotpot in Birmingham.
Meats are all thin sliced and taste good. Veggies and mushrooms good. Bean curd skins good. Seafoods good. Dessert good. Lamb grills good. Everything good.
If I ever visit Birmingham again it'd be largely because of this hotpot restaurant.
The environment is very nice, in the city center.
It's £ 23.99 for adults and half price for kids.
The price is acceptable. It would be better if there were more dishes next time, such as pig brain or frog. Of course, I know that this restaurant mainly serves Little lamb's hot pot. 👌
Really a delightful experience, we ordered a few things we wanted to try and as this was our first time we did not know the sizes and we were impressed. Delicious and filling ;) I loved the fact that you can choose the level of hotness (chili) of the broth... Service was excellent, helpful and happy, even though we were the only ones who weren't chinese or of chinese descent the service was great. We will recommend!!
