The style and atmosphere of the venue was nice, with music played while we dined and the waitress was friendly and approachable. As a group of 4, we ordered the Bantu Braai platter for £130, this came with a mixture of different meats, including pork ribs and 5 sides of our choice. The food flavour was nice and filled us up (we had left overs) and the temperature was warm, not piping hot but acceptable to eat. The only thing missing from this dish, in my opinion, was just a sweet or spicy gravy to garnish over the meat. Also, the venue only accepted CARD ONLY, so do not bring cash.
Amazing ambience, delicious meal, the suya was really dry and the peri chicken, the shrimps were amazing, the jollof rice was ok, the buffalo tail with rice was a fail for me , kids loved the nuggets and chips, nice cocktails with funny names (loved it), no baby changing station
P.s... no matter what you do make sure you park properly, does not matter the time of the day
Overall was a good experience but it took over an hour and half for our meals to be ready
Absolutely amazing, the service was fantastic. The food was gorgeous, the best meal I've had out in a long time. The waitress and waiters were fantastic and really catered to our needs. When we arrived, it had not long opened, so it was pretty quiet, but it soon filled up, and the atmosphere was great. We were originally a table of 3 but a quick call to upgrade to 6 was no problem at all and due to road works, we were also later than our booking time, this was no problem at all. Best African restaurant food very delicious. Will be back for more it was so tasty, and we will bring our friends too
Came here for the once upon a time menu. Staff was super nice and friendly. Took our coats and let us choose where to sit. Food came promptly and well presented. Absolutely gorgeous taste and definitely would go again. I did get the drink that went with the theme however as I had a non alcoholic version, I don't believe I should have paid same price as an alcoholic one.

One thing I love about Bantu Restuarant is that it gives you the African vibes.
It’s a good place to go either for dates or family and friends hangout. They play good African music especially Afro beats and their food is amazing too.
You should give it a try
One of my favorite places in Birmingham. The staff is caring and polite. They would definitely do everything they can to serve you well. The food is delicious and they have a large range of options for all type of eaters. The cocktails are good and tasty. I would definitely recommend Bantu to someone wanting to try another way to eat African, celebrate, or simply be mesmerized by their decoration
The food was delicious and tasty. Cocktails were giving. Only criticism is poor service. Our mains were served before our starters. We then waited 40 minutes for starters, as they were cooked but taken to the wrong table. Staff members are standing around doing nothing. The waitress that took our orders was polite, apologised, and gave us a free drink while waiting for starters to be cooked. Overall, it is a lovely atmosphere, nice outdoor space, and very delicious food. Staff need to be better to be more attentive. But I would return because of food.
Amazing experience at Bantu! Food was absolutely delicious and they catered for all our dietary requirements and not to mention the beautiful presentation. We booked out the Private room for my hen party with my sisters, and it was the perfect spot where we were away from the main restaurant dining hall and we were served by Silvia , who looked after us extremely well. Staff are very polite and friendly
Came here with my girl friends for dinner and couldn’t fault the place. The decor is lovely, our waitress was friendly and the food and drinks came quickly this was a Saturday night too. We decided to get a bunch of small plates/starters to share between us instead of mains and the portions sizes were more than enough, and presented really well, so delicious! The cocktails were difficult to choose as I like sweet cocktails and couldn’t really find one to my taste, but enjoyed the Ashawo cocktail perfect drink . Perfect for date night, catch up with friends or occasions! Would definitely come back again!
Amazing place! Absolutely delicious and a really nice atmosphere inside. We went on a Wednesday night and it was pretty busy, but they were happy to seat us despite not having a reservation. Service was fast and friendly. Would 100% visit again.
When me and my partner walked in, We was greeted by lovely hosts. I just came from the Scotland and was tired but they were extremely welcoming and took my bags. We were given a lovely table by the window which I also really appreciated. It was delicious food all round It was cooked to absolute perfection. Everything else tasted absolutely amazing.
I really loved this restaurant 😍 It was a refreshing change to try something different. I had never eaten African food before and I was very excited to try it. It was a lovely clean, bright venue. Friendly helpful staff. Delicious, hot, tasty authentic food. Timely service with a smile. Great atmosphere. This visit was with a Groupon but I would definitely go back without one. It was well worth the money. Next time I will have a dessert too.😊
I discovered this fantastic Nigerian restaurant during our first trip to Birmingham and always make it a point to get food here whenever we visit from London. The food is always delicious, fresh and portions are very generous. Just picked up a catered order for our event and the food was excellent. Well worth the drive! Even my Nigerian mother from Manchester said that everything was delicious and cooked very well. IMO this is the best Nigerian restaurant in the Birmingham .
Very good meal! I got the Jollof rice with chicken. Love spicy food and the rice was perfect. The chicken was cooked expertly with a very crispy crunchy skin! The plantains balanced out the spice of the rice perfectly. With very friendly staff I would highly recommend this to anyone that wants some authentic home cooked food!
From when we arrived at Bantu the staff where great. From checking in our coats, taking drinks orders and service in the restaurant itself. The eating experience was great and very different to other things I've tried. The food taste great with a real contrast in textures and flavours. Would highly recommend to anyone.I can't recommend them enough. I will definitely be returning in the future
My daughter turned me on to Bantu and I haven't stopped going since. The food and service is awesome. Staff is very pleasant and provides great customer service. I've tried the lamb chops which is my favorite, the fish, oxtail. and plantains. I may be spelling these wrong, but you get the picture. I highly recommend this spot.
