Thought of going here for many years but finally decided to, and it was lovely.
Not the usual Chinese buffet fare, original and authentic dishes. Very generous portion sizes. Pics of wok fried pork and beef noodles, and I can’t remember the correct names for the rest!!
All of us enjoyed our meals, including the coconut milk/water canned drinks!

Golden City Chinese Restaurant was money well spent. They give you this huge tray of food, including seaweed soup, rice and meat, salad, even fruits, like the one in the picture. The meat portion is also much, I couldn't finish mine. Had to get a takeaway which they provide free of charge with a nylon bag for you carry leftovers home. The only thing is that they only take cash and that is somewhat common to Chinese restaurant. So take cash along or you might have to go and withdraw at the ATM which is less than 2 minutes walk away.
10 10 would recommend, you get a generous portion for the price, and the food taste good. I ate with 2 other people and was able to take a decent amount of left overs home.

Great place for reasonably priced Chinese food in Selly Oak; especially if you’ve lived in Asia/ south east Asia previously, this place definitely makes you feel comfortable and close to home. The price is fair for the portions with a nice set menu that I often order. Steven is a great lad who really looks out for his guests and gives great suggestions if you’re looking to try new dishes there. I’m a proud regular at this restaurant!

We have ordered take away, the food was fantastic, especially the stir fried beef with broccoli, beef were lovely and tender, broccoli were crunchy and flavorful. Well worth every penny. The staffs were very friendly too, Will definitely come back again. 👍

Visited for a birthday meal. Reasonable prices, good service. Even adjusted dishes for us if they were too spicy for the kids. Will definitely visit again.
