Whenever I go to the NEC for an event, this is the go to place to grab a bite to eat. Staff are very polite and friendly, food comes quickly and the atmosphere has always been welcoming.
A friend of mine lost a bag while attending an event, and this spoons was so helpful by keeping the bag safe for us to come and pick up! We were greeted at the door by a lovely member of staff who introduced herself as Li, and she truly was our hero that night. My friend’s things were safe and I look forward to coming back next time I’m at the NEC!
It’s a Wetherspoons. The brand literally focuses on making sure you get exactly the same service and product which ever Wetherspoon you go to. So once you reviewed one you reviewed them all.
This particular Wetherspoons is located inside the Birmingham National exhibition centre and it is very well located in relation to lots of the exhibiting halls.
We often use it when we are there for having meetings over a coffee which are obviously unlimited refills or maybe some lunch if we’re feeling peckish.
All round Nice place. However, after queuing for quite a while was informed items were not available. Had to leave queue to find what my party wanted. Returned to till, to order, but staff ignored me & carried on chatting. Eventually ordered & received food a short while later. Food was acceptable, but not special. Captive audience syndrome?
Visited NEC today for the Classic Car Show and decided to try to get some lunch at Wetherspoons. Despite the huge queues and packed tables we were lucky enough to eventually get a table. Ordered our food on the app which arrived much quicker than anticipated. The food was hot, fresh and delivered by extremely friendly and efficient staff. All I can say is well done to every staff member who were operating flat out in an extremely busy and stressful environment, they all performed brilliantly, well done team.
In a good location if you are attending an event at the NEC
Chip portions and small - not cooked in fresh oil and drinks were served flat
After speaking to the deputy manager I was told they had only just reopened after many weeks so the gas was right for the drinks yet.
Very unfortunate as have previously had good experience here.
Prices appear to have increased, especially tea and coffee but with free refills this is easily offset
Food was okay. Drinks were good, service was good given how busy it gets with events being hosted. Wheelchair accessibility is moderate, however you'll be limited on where you can sit whilst busy. No table service is available here it's all bar service so be prepared for queues especially if there is an event on.
