Anyone familiar with the Jewellery Quarter will know that the Brown Lion has changed hands many times over recent years. Be it for whatever reason, it’s a space that has struggled to fulfil its potential, seemingly whilst the rest of the area flourishes. Now, under new ownership, it looks great; part English boozer, part New York loft apartment. Neutral colours, bare brick walls, and reclaimed wooden tables. Its unfussy and efficient. Thankfully low on pretention.

A gem of a pub with tasty food. The Guinness is one to look out for.

Whitewashed exterior and a mixed interior. There are some traditional features like a fireplace and pub style seating but then some tables and chairs are more modern. A good range of beers and ciders on draught and by the bottle, plus a decent range of spirits. They offer home made curry as their food choice, didn't have any but saw some others with it and it looked like generous helpings. Small seating area at the front on the street. Will visit again.

Very cosy place but, as reported before, like being in someone’s house with telly(s) on the wall. Cheap, good drinks and curry are perfect. Could do with a log-burner for warmth and help lift the atmosphere. But a decent place for an evening and very friendly.

Superb pub run by the most superb people. The beer is exceptional and Dipti's home cooked food even better. Honest, fun, homely, relaxing, can't say enough really 👍👍👍

Great little pub in the Jewllery Quarter. We just discovered it walking back from shopping in town during a weekend break. First time I have ever been offered a chocolate from a box of celebrations, by the new landlady :)
