Staff were friendly. Service was good although coffee order was forgotten- apologies given.
Food served quickly. Food hot. Chips were EXCELLENT - some of the best - well done. Hunters chicken cooked fine but bacon quality poor and no barbeque sauce. Had it not been for the chips would have been very disappointed.Pub kept quite nicely.
Celebrated my Mums birthday here. Delicious food, couldn’t fault it, service was attentive and friendly. Great find this place and we will certainly recommend and return. Pie of the day is a must have!! As is the crumble and chocolate melt. We also love the fact this pub does not allow dogs.

The decor is nice and so were the staff. I ordered the chorizo and truffle mac and cheese. It was absolutely delicious served with a carrot and rocket salad (with vinegarette )and garlic bread. I will definitely come back and have this again. I am also eyeing up the cheese, leek and potato pie.😊 It is also right next to the canal. So you can go for a pleasant walk afterwards.
The food was very tasty however the puddings were pretty expensive. It was nice to include colouring pages and crayons for the children. I was also shocked about the price of non alcoholic cider. 😳 They did the steak blue and it came out perfect and very tasty. Without the 30% off voucher we wouldn't have come, it's too expensive.

My wife and I invited our teenage grandsons to lunch , both of whom have healthy appetites. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and one of the boys actually said he thought his burger and dessert were excellent - thats high praise indeed !

A restaurant to which my wife has been a number of times. It was my first visit yesterday. The food was reasonably priced and of excellent quality. I had the vegetarian tart which was tasty followed by the crumble and custard. I mean what could be better. Kind, attentive service.
Easy booking. Table ready for us. Food was good and service was friendly. Took quite a while from ordering to food delivery but, fortunately, we had brought colouring materials to distract the children in our party.
The cauliflower wings we had on our previous visit were very over-cooked. We tried them again this visit - sadly still very over-cooked. We’ll give them a miss in future.

I love coming to Hopwood House and it is always my go to place for a good meal!! The staff are always welcoming and attentive!! Food is always good quality and piping hot!! Prices have gone up a bit recently but still reasonable!! We took advantage of the 30% off mains offer and had a great experience!!
Our reservation was waiting for us all set up. Super range of meals on the menu to suit all of our dietary needs. Quick and friendly service and good value for money. One of our party came back to your establishment again with their family that same weekend, she was so impressed!

Warm greeting on arrival and shown to our table straight away. Our server also greeted us and gave us a few moments to settle at the table. She returned, asked whether we might like a drink, checked that facilities for our infant was suitable, provided relevant menus and asked whether we had any allergies she needed to be aware of. Following taking the order, the food arrived in a decent amount of time and we all agreed that the meal was excellent. Our son said it was the best steak he had been served and eaten for some time. Our server cleared the table promptly and after a suitable break, provided us with a dessert menu. Again, the desserts were lovely and there was no hesitation to provide a spare small plate for us to give the infant a taste of the variety of desserts, rather than have his own. Drinks were replenished when required without the need to ask. The only negative, if you can call it that is that one of the served desserts was incorrect but our server recognised this immediately and asked for this to be corrected. Overall impeccable experience from start to finish. We will definitely be back and won't leave it so long.
Waitress service was really good - we were a large group and all our needs were attended to.
Meals came out quickly and together :). We were offered drinks throughout the meal. The restaurant was full so well done to the staff that served that day.
We were travelling back from Cornwall to Northumberland and wanted to break the journey and have a meal. My wife went online and found you of which she said this looks nice place and so I booked a table for lunch. We certainly were not disappointed clean and friendly from the staff and the meal was excellent I would highly recommend you and your team and we would have no hesitation on visiting you again when we come that way.
Lovely warm welcome from the manageress as usual ,staff very polite and attentive. Food was brilliant and well presented. We came for a mothers day meal on the Saturday with my father, mother, aunt and uncle. My father is in a wheelchair and the accessibility to the restaurant and the table was very good, we didn't feel cramped or on top of the next table.
The waitress that served us was very nice, helpful and efficient. She was friendly and ensured we were happy with each course and that we didn't require anything else.
The food was very nice and the cost is a good price.
Very much enjoyed our meal and celebrating mothers day with family.
Went to The Hopwood tonight for first time. Not disappointed. Friendly , helpful staff. Nice atmosphere. Clearly popular. Nice selection of food and drink. Ham Hock very good, but go with a good appetite (see pic. )
