Just visiting UK from Houston TX and stopping in Birmingham on our way on our road trip to Lake District up north. Very nice and clean up scale environment with huge variety of dishes plus on hand cooking station of u want to create something. Very fast service and good taste pretty much for everything we tried.
Been here many times but unfortunately they do find it hard to cater for large numbers in announced customers. Being star city you can imagine the queue time capacity at its limit on peak times over the weekend and It is very busy. So for a relaxed environment this is not the place unfortunately. I do feel for families with prams and wheelchairs and personally would avoid it at peak times other than that they cater well overall less busy times. Prices vary depending on the days but reasonably priced,most we paid was £18 ahead, and I was told pre booking consists of 11 People if you wish to book, but this was during EID so not sure on any given day.
A wonderful experience - This place is very good value for money. We dined here on the weekend, and I'm glad that we had pre-booked a table as it was super busy. The decor is amazing.. It's £20 for adults and £10 for children. This price includes bottomless soft drinks (never usually the case). The food selection is really good, the taste is authentic, and you get all the mains, grills, and desserts. The staff is tentative and friendly, and the service is on point. All in all, good food, at a very decent price.
Fantastic Asian buffet with lots of choice, including some fabulous desserts. Service was so friendly and nice. Everywhere was immaculately clean and the staff were so quick to clear tables as people left.
We looked around star city, all the other eateries were fairly quiet, Zauq was really busy, once you have eaten here you will understand why. Just brilliant. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for a lovely experience.
Went for iftaar. Had to be there by half six for a eight iftaar. But it was definitely worth the wait.
The food was excellent, variety was phenominal and the service superb.
Will have to revisit during normal days to affirm this being the best buffet so far. For now it is....

They have a large selection of starters, a few different curries, a live cooking station where they can do you some lovely lamb chops and a stir fry section. I would like this place more if they had real desserts not fake cream foamy cakes and jelly. Why would I want some jelly after a curry. Also do not sit in a booth sit in an open space unless you want to be begging your friends and family to move over every 5 mins so you can get your 18th plate.
The atmosphere is very good. Overall, the space is a bit overcrowded. They need to larger the space. The food is really good and has got more variety in it. I can eat spice, but a few of the dishes were like too spicy. You can have some parking issues as spaces are really full out there. So be on time if you need fresh food.
Incredible experience, amazing selection of food. Dessert selection was out of this world.
Excellent choice of traditional dishes, some English dishes for less adventurous.
Well worth the price, for 1 and 1/2 of dining. Halal which is very important to our family.

Get a reservation as we had a group of 25 on a Saturday night it was jam packed with happy customers enjoying amazing mix of food options! They accepted us immediately after payment and escorted us to a table reserved for us upstairs. Decor was nice and relaxed ambiance. Wheelchair toilet downstairs and it’s all ground level access for wheelchair users with buffet service downstairs too. Toilets for male and female upstairs one floor up! Everybody enjoyed the food especially me the noodles was my personal favourite with mango cheesecake THAT WAS LUsH! I will certainly be visiting this place when I’m back in town as we came down to Birmingham from London to celebrate my nephews 1st birthday. Staff were attentive and welcoming. Service was good to, they pick up your plates once eaten so you can get another plate without worrying about them being left on the table.
Was quite busy and people were not following the queue and were just shoving in. Making confusing on who’s waiting and who isn’t.

There was plenty of seating inside. They have family booth and upstairs seating.
As it's a buffet, there is plenty of variety. The food was very nice, tasty, fresh and constantly refilled.
They have a separate section for the lamb chops, nihari, haleem section. They also have a stir fry section where they make the stir fry for you.
Staff are quite prompt in replacing the plates from the tables and glasses.
Overall, I enjoyed the night.
The food was ok. The atmosphere was good and the service was good. The manager was friendly and actually came up to us to see if everything was ok. Mon-Thurs £18 a head and Fri-Sun £20, under 4's are free and 4-10 year olds Mon- Thurs £8 and Fri-Sun £10. This includes drinks. Staff were friendly apart from the lady that was serving the sweet dishes, she was a bit rushed off her feet she was tired so took it out on customers by serving people who weren't in the queue first, but the manager was great and sorted it out. Other than that I will probably visit again.

Great place, took mine and my husbands family there for good birthday.
We enjoyed it there.
The only thing which I would say I didn't like, was the seating arrangements. As we had about 12 people and only 2 ways to get into the seating area, so there was alot of getting up and moving to let the other person to go and get some food.
I know they have an open area as well, but not sure if can accommodate that many people.
Also, they don't serve hot drinks, but I think most buffets don't, so that tough.
Overall, it was great. The staff was good and the food was delicious.
I would go again and I do recommend!
Busy as always. 40 min waiting time and 90min eating time. Good food but not wide selection. Plates are a little small but lots of them to get another one. Good staff. Free Parking in star city makes it a good choice for a buffet.
I recently visited Zauq on my visit to Birmingham. It’s located strategically close to other attractions and I had to take a bus from the city centre. Usually 63 and 61 buses are quite popular on the route (but do confirm when you’re travelling). The place has Indo-Pakistani Mughlai cuisine and has a variety of starters starting from salads, chaat, pakoras, bhajiya, kebabs, tandoori etc. I liked the starters the most. There were also a few items such as lamb chops, haleem and fish. The main course had veg and non veg items such as different types of pulao and rice, okra curry, kadhi, chicken tikka, lamb rogan josh and others. The sweet section was filled with Indian sweets along with cakes, ice creams etc. overall, I enjoyed my meal here and would definitely visit it again if I’m in Birmingham. The entire buffet along with unlimited drinks cost me £18 per head.
Service was excellent, was a bit of a wait to get in but then again it was peak time on Saturday so it was to be expected

We weren't rush and left to our own devices to enjoy the buffet
Parking was plentiful with it being in star city
