I would be doing myself a disservice if didn’t do a shoutout for this cozy wondrous cafe called Tamu. The prices are what you would expect at Bearwood High Street but the food is really prepared carefully, with love. I particularly love the friendliness of the staff - shout out to the wonderful staff including Melania and many others. I know this review came super late. But as they say, better late than never. Enjoy some of the food I have always loved from this beautiful place - al fresco style.

The portions were quite generous, so you definitely won't leave hungry. However, I do have to mention that the prices were a bit on the higher side. But considering the quality and taste of the food, it's worth the occasional splurge.
The only downside is that parking can be a bit of an issue. But don't let that stop you from enjoying a tasty meal at this fantastic cafe! 🍽️😄🌸
This cafe is such a hidden little gem! Easy to find location on Bearwood High Street, the food is incredible and staff are super friendly - seems to be family run ? As a young boy brought our cutlery pot over to us which was so sweet.
Could not fault Tamu Cafe, we will definitely back!

Hands down the best cafe I’ve experienced in Birmingham. My friend took me here with high expectations. I’ll admit I wasn’t sure what to expect from Bearwood, I appreciate that’s a judgemental thing to say, so I really did “eat my words”.
The vibe was extremely welcoming, the customers were eclectic, the food was mouth watering and super generous portions.
I have been telling everyone about this place and will be making it my local even though I don’t live locally !

Lucky for me this is one of my local cafes. Managed to get to one of their evening tapas nights a few weeks ago. The food was PERFECT and Zee and her husband the perfect hosts once again. Seriously...go eat the food!!
Discovering this charming brunch spot was a delight, perfect for both solo outings and groups like ours (a party of 7). Upon entering, Tamu was extremely busy , and finding a seat was a challenge. However, the staff was incredibly accommodating. They suggested a 15-20 minute wait, offering us the choice of waiting outside or in our car. To our surprise, they even served us hot chocolate while we waited, showcasing their thoughtful hospitality 🫶🏽
Now, onto the main attraction – the food. We went for the salmon Avo and French toast, just like the tempting photos which I’ve shared. The flavors were exquisite, making the 20-minute wait in the chilly 🥶 outdoors entirely worthwhile.
If you find yourself in the vicinity of TaMu, it's a must-try for a delightful dining experience.
The neighborhood was a bit dodgy, but once you get inside the mood is totally different. Especially after having spent few days eating heavy pub food and sugary desserts, it seemed like a very healthy and tasty option.
The food is amazing here! The chef knows good food and flavours. The staff are lovely and welcoming. It’s such a gem in Bearwood.
