Cakes to die for, staff are never without a smile, and the bubble teas are arguably the best in Birmingham. Highly recommend a visit!
Caffé Chino, very nice and quiet place. Very kind and attentive. Great variety of #coffees and #bbubbletea. #Cakes and #pastries very good. A place to recommend at any time of the day.
It's my permanent bubble tea place because the bubble tea here is amazing! I'll never have bubble tea anywhere else!
Amazing staff! Beautiful shop! They helped me make the perfect bubble tea! I would reccomend to any bubble tea lovers! I just wish I didn't live at the opposite end of the country!! :(
I love the cakes from there and every time I try another one with my green or jasmin tea. Cakes are made freshly everyday and you can order to make you tea the way you like - from tea bag or leaves.
Been to this shop for first time today and hv a few cakes and buns:) wow.... its amazing :) i will be back again :)
absolutely beautiful place and cakes very happy with their service always i got what i ask for never dessapointed
the best bakery in town
and the staff always very nice and helpful
thank caffe chino
I ordered a cake for my daughter's first birthday and it was really nice. Plus I bought myself a bubble te and a couple of buns when I went to pick the cake up and I enjoyed them. Super yummy!
We love the cake here so much that we've just booked Caffe Chino to make our wedding cake! Incredible prices for what they're doing for us, way cheaper than specialist wedding cake shops, and the staff are really helpful. Perfect for unusual designs and especially good if you want generous portions of a delicious, light cake that won't leave you feeling overfull and stodgy.
visited Birmingham this weekend gone, and thought would have a a nice drink and cake, well the cake and drinks here are amazing loved it and service very friendly.
Very cute , polite staff and the cake is so tasty
I had a birthday cake for my daughters 13th birthday and it was absolutely perfect it went down really well!
Fantastic little cafe excellent Bubble Tea, Excellent Service carnt wait to try a slice of cake next time
Staff are always happy and smiling! Definitely the place to be!
Nice little cafe that offers all sorts of cakes, breads, buns and drinks. I personally think that their taro bubble tea with grass jelly is the best in the city centre. Good place to wind down and relax
I love their strawberry cream cake!!! It has layers of strawberry jam and sponge! Its the best thing those guys have. I tried their fruity ice and some milkshakes. The fruity ice is basically fruits with crushed ice all blended together. I ordered mango with strawberry and it tasted ok.
For their milkshakes, they taste good but I felt there was something off with them. Turns out later that they use flavoured powder instead of the ice cream or fruits to make the milkshake, e.g. mango flavoured powder instead of mango ice cream or real mangoes. i tried their mixed fruits cake.. it wasnt that good.
Ambiance is nice but the place is a bit small. I like the overall design of the place.
If you are passing by China town and the arcadian, you might as well give their strawberry cream cake a try since its worth it.
There is something about this place that draws Mr Ting and I in every time we are in the area.
Caffe Chino offers a made to order service for their fresh cakes. And they can provide dairy free, egg free, and vegetarian friendly masterpieces too. The prices oddly are based on the weight of the cake. I know. I had to get my head around this as well. I wanted a cake to feed 12 people, and had to order by the kilo. Thankfully they help you work this kind of stuff out. Otherwise I could have easily had enough cake to feed the building. My dairy free cake was delicious, and looked fantastic. There was plenty of fresh fruit, and though the soya cream tasted strange to some friends, when fresh from the fridge the cream had the texture and taste of regular moo-based cream. Oh and if you look at their Facebook page you can admire the range of customised orders they have baked over time - a veritable feast for the eyes, and torture for the stomach.
Aside from the made to order service, there are also fresh cakes and buns of the asian variety. These are reasonably priced, and have never disappointed us. I am a huge fan of their Milk Bar cake, and Mr Ting favours the custard buns. I overlook this for the sake of our marriage. Regardless we both find cakes that we enjoy from Caffe Chino, and often find ourselves buying a couple each as we fail to choose just one.
Their bubble tea is as varied as the popular bubble tea bars in town. But here without the bustle of the Bullring there are rarely queues for orders. There is also seating here if you fancy a sit down somewhere a bit different from your usual coffee shops in town. And as there are plenty of drinks (including tea and coffee not just bubble tea), and a range of baked goods this is a great spot for a catch up with a friend. With the addition of wi-fi and plug sockets this would be a great place to work from - but thankfully Caffee Chino haven't gone down this route so it kind of feels like a hidden gem at the moment.
Bubble tea part II...came here earlier this week and had the best bubble tea I have had to date. Ok I have only had it once before but this one was definitely my favourite. I went for the almond tea....it was amazing but be warned it's pretty filling.
If you are in Arcadian this place is worth a visit...also if you are a cake lover I would also say stop by here. The cakes looked amazing...but i'm Glastonbury diet so decided to pass.
If I lived closer to this place, I'd probably find myself here quite often!
They have a wide selection of Chinese style drinks and bubble teas, and a large selection of fresh pastries and cakes.
The ambience is very fancy, but it's a very chill place, with some power outlets and Chinese music playing in the background.
The people working behind the counter are very friendly, and their prices are very reasonable! It was only a 1 minute walk from the Bull Ring.
I opted for the Buko Pandan cold Bubble Tea with boba. (First time trying rhis flavour drink ever.) The boba is a bit too hard for my liking, but good flavour. Nice and sweet. The Pandan flavour is nice and pleasant. To me it tastes similar to a young coconut with an earthy element. Not too sweet, and very creamy. It also reminds me of green tea cake. Haha.
All in all nice place!
I am a huge Japan fan. I love the food, the culture and the "other worldliness" of it all. It was with excitement that I discovered this place on Yelp (after a heads up from Yelper Charlie S).
Located in the Arcadian Centre in the gay/Chinese quarter (whichever you would prefer to term it), this little cafe is pretty easy to miss unless you walk through from the Bullring side. Even then, in amongst the supermarkets, the accessory shops and the other cafes and bars - you could still be oblivious.
The exterior is adorned with a cute green and pink sign and there is some outdoor seating available. On entry, I knew this place was a good choice to stop and grab a drink. With the boards offering bubble tea, sweet tea, jelly tea and loads of different varieties of cakes and pastries; you're a bit spoilt for choice.
There seemed to be everything from the saccharine sweet cream cakes to pork buns and many different variations on sweet and savory fillings. I'm glad that I was with Charlie on my first visit as I very well may have been a bit overwhelmed with the choices available.
I opted for some kiwi jelly and apple ice tea (like bubble tea, but with little pieces of jelly rather than bubbles) and Charlie had some sweet tea (served with condensed milk for added sugar). Both drinks came to about £5.50 or so, which wasn't too bad considering the size of the cups. My "jelly slushy" was, quite simply, amazing. The perfect drink for a hot day. It actually tasted of Kiwi and apples and the slush was cooling and refreshing. I had a little sip of Charlie's tea, but not having as much of a sweet tooth as I used to; I found it a little too sugary for my taste.
We sat in the cafe and enjoyed our drinks in the super cute surroundings. Again, every detail has been considered to get maximum "kawaii" value. The tables and chairs look like they've been snatched out of a cafe in an anime and the shelves were stacked with goodies to buy and take home (such as buns, pocki, sweets and snacks).
The staff were friendly in our brief exchange and seemed to be genuinely interested in personalising every drink to the personal choice of the customer. So thats a check for customer service, choices available, decor, quality of product and price. I believe that makes it a 5* review!
I just love this place, it makes me so very happy.
A Parisian-style Chinese cafe, it is totally cute and kitsch and it sells all manner of Chinese beverages including the now very popular bubble tea. But tea alone does not a cafe make, and you can also choose an unusual cake/bun from a large selection, including green tea buns, which are my personal favourite.
You can buy additional quirky Asian treats from the other side of the bun counter, and the shop specialises in very fancy occassion cakes, which i've never tried- but they look the business.
There is seating inside and outside, usually available. Unless i'm hogging them. see you there!
This little café is so pretty! - The decor and the cakes! I just had to pop in to take a look!
They have a small seating area and generally I think it's more geared up for take-outs as most cakes are self serve, however its still inviting.
They apparently do vegan cakes to order and I don't think I've ever seem their selection before anywhere else, so stop by if you want something different from the norm!.
A nice place to go for a coffee and cake so fluffy you will want to eat two. Also do bubbles tea and whole range of cakes and tarts that can be taken away. Friendly and helpful staff.
One of my favourite places in the city, this cute cafe offers delicious cakes (I love their cheesecake and their chocolate mousse cakes) and a variety of hot drinks and bubble tea. Kawaii would be an understatement. Gave them four stars because sometimes their service is very slow during busy periods, but the quality of the baked goods outweighs it somewhat ;)
Often take visiting friends here for a sweet treat. Great that they are open until 9pm too, even on Sundays.
Always recommend here as cute date venue, date with friends or a romantic date. Or just treat yourself with a nice tea (Taiwan milk tea is my favourite!) and delicious baked goods - they even sell Cafe Chino's buns and cakes in the big Wing Yip supermarket! I really recommend sausage bun and cocktail bun, always taste so fresh and filling and less than a pound each!
Love, love, love this place. It reminds me of the Asian bakeries back home, where you can get coffee or boba (er..."bubble tea" for probably the rest of you) along with a choice of pastries and cakes to take home or nosh on with your drinks. I bought mango milk tea with boba (tapioca pearls) and will bring my husband here so he can get his almond milk tea fix. They also have a few Pocky-like and savory snacks in addition, sat above the pastries.
Bonus for this place is that the milk tea isn't too sweet, but then again it is all personal preference. This is a great place to have pudding after a meal, or if you're in the Arcadian centre and just want to chill. Today's weather was definitely a factor in my coming here ;)
This is where Parisian patisserie meets traditional Chinese bakery. The pistachio and pink signage is a clue to the sweet pastel coloured confections that can be found inside. There are dainty fruit topped tarts, sweet and savoury pastries, egg tarts and slices of luxurious gateaux. I'm a big fan of their Parisian-style macarons - especially the chocolate and pistachio flavours.
The drinks menu feature bubble tea, green tea lattes, exotic fruit juices and ices and the intriguing basil seed drinks.
Caffe Chino's range of bespoke and special occasion cakes is a stunning sight to behold.
If you're looking for bubble tea in Chinatown this is the place to go. Mimicking some of the kitsch European meets cute cafes you find in South East Asia the Decor is fun and quirky. The green tea sponge and Japanese cheesecake are some of the softest and fluffiest cakes I've had.
Such a cute little cafe with a lot to offer. This was my second time trying bubble tea and I was again pleasantly surprised. I opted for the blueberry as it was nice warm day and I needed refreshing. There was a lot to choose from and as a newbie to the bubble tea world it was quite overwhelming but the girls that worked here were helpful. The cakes and snacks they had on offer were also very tempting I could get myself in a lot of trouble if I visited often.
I always get really excited when I visit here because there are always new and exciting things to try! Every time I visit I try a new cake or pastry and I am mostly always impressed. The only time I wasn't was when I had a green bean roll but that was due to it not meeting my personal tastes rather than it not being of quality. My favourite roll is the one filled with pineapple. It is a dream!
A variety of drinks with cheap price. I also recommend their bread, very delicious.
Delicious teas and amazing cheese topped milk teas but pretty expensive
Excellent quality drinks and breads.
Updated! CAFE SHOP SELL CAKES AND DRINKS
