I went in today with my friend and was made to feel genuinely welcome by the lovely manager Alison. She brought our wine over, poured it and had a chat with me. The staff member (longish dark haired guy) who brought our food out was smiling, polite - he’s always helpful and looks like he’s happy to be working there! 5* food, service, staff, atmosphere. Just what I needed today so thank you.

It's good to see the Dog returning back to the great pub it used to be. Food was lovely and beer was good too. Will be returning more frequently now.

We enjoyed a lovely Christmas meal at The Dog with our friend. There was a varied selection on the Christmas menu to choose from with something to suit most tastes. To start, two of us choose the very tasty parsnip soup while the other had the prawn cocktail. For the main I had the vegetarian spinach and mushroom wellington and the others choose the turkey. The portions were generous but we all cleared our plates as everything tasted superb. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try the desserts as we were too full!

We've been coming to The Dog for a few years and it has recently had a refurb which is very nice. We came on a Friday at around 5pm without a booking. The place was busy so would recommend booking in advance. We managed to get a table after about an hour by chance. Great value food - vegetarian burger and gammon, egg, and chips. One of the meals was a deal which included a dessert too. Food is reasonably priced and nice enough. Staff were friendly. Drinks - a pint of peroni £5.80 and a lemonade £3.30.

Great old pub, that is super welcoming and has delicious food. Lots of space, so grab yourself a seat, order a pint and work your way through the menu!

A nice relaxing visit to The Dog this afternoon just for a quick drink while passing by. Food - I did not eat here today, but on previous recent visit found it to be tasty with plenty to choose from. Drink - Served just right, cold and fresh just how it should be. Atmosphere - Background music not too loud as to can't think, and not too quiet that can here other peoples conversations. Just right! Nice theme to the place, with loads of space in the beer garden. There are a few bits that could do with a little attention - nothing can't fix with a bit of paint and maybe an overhaul on the toilets is due. Not enough to impact on my 5* rating / feedback on the place though - just observation. Staff - Quick service at the bar, all seem happy and attentive. No problems at all. Family and solo visitor friendly pub - look forward to returning!

Absolutely lovely local pub! Friendly and chilled atmosphere, excellent food, lovely staff and a real community feel 😁 Also had a fantastic selection of drinks including some really reasonably priced and tasty cask ales which rotate regularly. One of the best things about moving to the area was finding The Dog! It's only become better and better over the years, with a recent refurb that has really refreshed it!

We didn't particularly plan on coming here but couldn't be bothered to cook one evening. The menu is varied, has suitable options for vegetarians and the children's menu was suitable for all the awkward/picky eaters out there. We ate off the set menu and it was very good value for money. £15 for 3 courses. Service was friendly and quick. We will be back.
