Popped in for a beer. Cobra was my choice which was enjoyable after my long walk. Payment by card only. Good sized room with TV on the wall showing 1970,s music videos, which was enjoyable. Staff were friendly, nice and clean place. Quiet when I went in but it had just opened. Great visit.
I was told of this place by a friend and thought I would check it out. The decor is nothing to shout about as it is a local pub and is a bit rough & ready but the food is on another level. Since my first visit, I have been a few times now and have always chosen the Lion Special Family Grill which has never let me down. The thing that amazes me is the speed at which the food comes out. I don’t think I have had to wait more than 10-15 minutes before the food is at our table. The naan breads are made fresh and are lovely and soft. The masala fries and momo’s are also very good. There is plenty of choice on the mixed grill with a choice of seekh kebabs, grilled chicken, fried fish, fried prawns and some lamb chops to top it off. We always have some left over to take home. The price is also very good as it will cost you no more than £40 for a family of four. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Keep up the good work guys!
Currys are very good and mixed grill isnt bad either .location isnt great , biy food makes up for it .Drinks are very reasonably prices compared to 99 per cent of places

They hosted a 5th birthday party for my daughter, cordoned off area, 25 kids, was amazing! All parents impressed with the Mega Mixed Grills. Also hosted a baby shower, similar food, guests wanted more, so tasty!!
When under the previous owner/managers this was my 'go to' curry house.
The place changed hands some time ago and I thought I'd have another go.
Decor is unchanged; clean and functional.
Modest selection of lagers, limited ciders and with no ales available.
Admirable menu with a good variety of dishes.
The staff all seemed very friendly and helpful, however, ordering seemed to prove slightly challenging. The waitress lady, as lovely as she was, did not seem to understand a single word we said.
We finally managed to leave with our 'order' and got home to find a few items missing. One dish and a naan bread. Not sure if they had been paid for as threw the receipt.
The food that was there was absolutely delicious. Slightly light on the meat content but very good. Nice sized portions and clearly fresh ingredients.
To be recommended.

Tasty, freshly cooked food. Staff was also friendly and the pub/restaurant is very spacious.
What an amazing meal we just had. Fast friendly service with really affordable prices. Deliciously hot and freshly made food with a portion size that is guaranteed to fill the hungriest of diners. Can't wait to go back again.
Food was excellent - hubby opted for traditional Indian starter and main and I went for Nepalese options and wasn't disappointed (my starter was amazing and chicken and lamb in mains was tender, tasty and plentiful). Menu varied and reasonable prices - drinks standard pub options and prices. Nice to be able to watch music on TV screens in background (presumably sport at other times)..In summary would recommend.
Great and speedy food, great value and a nice atmosphere. Definitely give their Mo Mo a try.

The Island Inn is only about 10 mins away from the M5. We wanted more than motorway services quality and weren't disappointed. Although it was was quiet on Saturday lunchtime, the freshly cooked curries we had, and the service were well worth the detour.
