Great staff and very helpful. Attending at signing by Joe Hill was a wonderful experience as the staff seemed to be enjoying it too. They couldn’t do enough for you.

Just visited Waterstones Birmingham for the first time... Felt welcomed in immediately by the layout, the armchairs, and of course the books !!!! Such a choice, but not overwhelming. Came away with three books this time, and will be back for the books and the events. A very exciting eye opener!!

The high street of Birmingham is filled with over-filled cafés and stops, and it's often difficult to find somewhere quiet to enjoy a drink. I took my chances with Waterstones' café, and was greeted with a friendly face before I was catered for. This is exactly what I expected from the café up one floor from the entrance, and it was bliss. If it wasn't evident from the photo, the hand-crafted latte art was perfect, and this was possible due to the care that came from steaming the milk. I was served by Liz who was attentive to hygiene procedures while steaming milk, ensuring it met the optimal temperature. The little extras that come with a cup of coffee are vital to having a perfect cuppa. Additions such as a saucer and teaspoon make more effort for staff, but go a long way for the consumer when they want to take their time sipping their coffee. And what a perfect time to do so after purchasing a new book, or enjoying the light ambience of pages turning in the environment around you. I had no doubts that Waterstones would know how to make a latte and I am not surprised with what I was served, as the reputable high-street book store continues to upkeep its relaxed yet professional vision. I will be permanently sitting down for a drink when my friends flick through the latest books from now on, enjoying a sip of serenity in peace.

Loved this store so much. I was very interested in the ancient history, as well as theology and philosophy sections, which really piqued my interest, they had so much just under these categories, it took me 40 minutes just to pick what I wanted. If I could've I would have gotten a lot of books. Even the board games and puzzles had me tossing up whether I wanted to spend a lot of money on getting all of them.

Great bookshop .. the sorting of books on the shelves are somewhat challenging in certain areas but it is a good bookshop. Note the additional tills on floors 2 which negates the waiting on the ground floor. Coffee shop good too to recuperate.

Beautiful shop. A heaven for book lovers. Only problems are the number and quality of their bathrooms and the fact that they haven't gotten WaterStone student card since Christmas.

A quiet haven to escape Birmingham’s somewhat generic and bland shopping experience. Great cafe and a good selection of books. Knowledgeable staff.

Asked for assistance at the ground floor till, to find a specific book. Was sent in the general direction upstairs, but unfortunately, there was nobody to help out on the shop floor. Took a little while to find my book, considering it was labelled up as architecture on the website but appeared in local interest after some searching. Would have expected that there's a search function available at the till to point to the more specific location of the book, like a library might have?

Spread across 5 floors, this Waterstone's would take all day to browse through fully. The staff admire friendly and helpful, and there are several places to sit and read, especially the top floor. Well worth a look in

Ein super schöner Buchladen auf mehreren Etagen. Es gibt hier wirklich alle möglichen Arten von Bücher und ist super schön eingerichtet. Ein Café gibt es auch, welches aber ein wenig teurer ist. (Translated by Google) A super nice bookstore on several floors. There are really all kinds of books here and it is beautifully decorated. There is also a café, but it is a little more expensive.

To be honest I only popped in to warm up as I was freezing cold, but the range of gorgeous gifts was amazing, I was expecting mostly books obviously but there was a large selection of games too!

Until I read the other reviews I don't think I appreciated this store as much as I should. It is easy to access, the two staff who served me were really helpful and very pleasant. I could buy the book cheaper online but I enjoyed having a browse through it first and it was enjoyable walking through looking at other sections.

The feel of a small bookstore in terms of customer service and knowledge about the books, but with the choice and variety of the big chain
