Having found this restaurant through Urban Spoon, I discovered a very busy and authentic Chinese dining experience.
At lunch the speciality was dim sum but I opted for the Peking duck, I could see hanging in the kitchen, along with some crispy pork belly - both utterly delicious. The only slight downside was the 'not so hot' rice, served in very generous portion!
Apart from one other gent and myself, the whole restaurant was occupied by Chinese people, adding to atmosphere and giving confirmation of its standards as an excellent family business. If I was in Birmingham for longer, or if I return,ed so would I.

Great food, great value, friendly service. Really enjoyed the food and service here. the staff was very friendly and the boss actually greets you on your way out. decently priced food and having so many chinese restaurants around, this place can hold its own. would definitely recommend it.

Wonderful evening/great food. When we arrived at this restaurant we noticed that the Chinese people dining around us were eating food that didn't appear on the menu, we asked our lovely spiky haired waiter what a particular group were having and he said "hot pot", we ordered the same and were rewarded 10 fold. A great experience with so much fresh tasty food all cooked in a hot pot of stock by us at our table, fun and delicious, not room to list all the things we popped in our pot and £15 per head, prawns, crab, tofu, pork, chicken, beef, vegetables, squid, fish balls, meat balls, we were stuffed and all fresh and tasty. If only they advertised this the place would be packed and they could surely charge more than £15 per head for a 2.5 hr dining experience !

I went there yesterday for a late yum cha (tea time). We had Ha Gao, Shiu Mai, Xiao Long Bao and sticky rice steamed in lotus leaf. The food was delicious. The staff were kind and quick. The restaurant was clean and quiet when we were there. Ha Gao was plumped and filled with big prawn goodness. I would say all the dim sum pieces were large and filling and well done. Chili oil and vinegar is available upon request. The xiao long bao skin is thicker than my usual liking. We got a pot and jasmine tea. It was nice and fragrant. I had a good meal. I would definitely come here again!

The most traditional Cantonese style food in UK. The quality of their dim sum is second to none. We come to visit few times per year for the past five years and the quality of the food and the service is always good. Will definitely recommend to anyone who loves authentic Cantonese food.

I had lunch with my family and this place is very good. Staff was very nice and the food is cooked very good, Uncle Roger will not like this restaurant because no MSG. Just kidding. The food is well cooked and not much oil and no MSG. The dim sum is full of flavour. Even better than most HK dim sum restaurants. In you are in the neighbourhood and visiting China town, this place is a must try.

A little too saucy with the Ho fun feel like soup base, but the taste was ok. dim sum is good!

Swift service and friendly staff. A dependable dim sum joint. Only caveat is beware of the queue wait time. So don’t be too surprised if you have to wait a while, especially on a Sat and Sun lunchtime. If you’re not on a set schedule, dinner is also very nice here and you can avoid the crowd.

I rated 5💫 mainly bec of the food, Sevice was OK but the waiter was a bit odd, we wanted to order a lot of food bec we really wanted to have a feast bec of the festivity😊 and he keeps telling us not to order too much food I dnt know his reason but instead he will be happy bec we wanted to order a lot he keeps controlling our order, anyway, never mind bec atleast we did not spend too much money🤭😄 Atmosphere at this time was really chaotic bec obviously of the Chinese New Year and I did not expect that the place is small..but anyway its fine bec the food is SUPERB!!😋😋😋👍👍👍👌👌👌 YUM YUM YUM!! We really did enjoy and would definitely go back🙂🙂 All the Dimsum are really good👌👌👌 and its worth the wait, even we waited for more than an hour to be seated and get a table, anyway its Happy Chinese New Year🎉🎉🎉 You must try it peeps😉👍👌

Nice traditional Chinese food offering traditional dim sums. Fresh, good quality, could improve on customer service. But overall the best place for dim sum Chinese in Birmingham. Highly recommend!

Probably one of the best dim sum you can have in Birmingham. Food quality is decent, same as dish portion. I wouldn’t complain at this price but I am not amazed either. I think their Shrimp Dumpling ( Har Gow) is the best among other dim sum. Overall if you would like to have authentic dim sum, worth visiting!

Was recommended by a friend and wasn't disappointed. Very nice and decently priced dim sum. Went there about 4pm on a Thursday and we were the only table that day. Staffs were having their meals time but that didn't keep them from providing a quick and good service. My favourite was the ox tripe which wasn't a commonly found dim sum.

Walking through the doors of Ken Ho Restaurant was like walking through a portal transporting me to Beijing. The authentic feel of this institution is mind warping. It was great to see the Chinese community happily chatting away and enjoying the food in this sociable atmosphere. If food service was an Olympic discipline I’d enter Ken Ho’s serving staff. Food was teleported to the table in a piping hot state. The main course was a substantial portion of food. I really shouldn’t have ordered that extra portion of vegetarian dumplings, but the advertisement tempted me too much. Fast, authentic and excellent value for money. Grab a few mates, a round table and share the love of authentic Chinese food.

Very friendly service and good food. Would definitely recommend. Originally we were going to Chung Ying but after being grunted at by one waiter that it would take 20 min and turned away by another who said they were full booked we were really glad to have found Ken Ho.
