There is something special about a delicious juicy burger. It can take you to that mystical place some call “food heaven”.
When, my friend Chris and I visited Handmade Burger Co. we were short on time as we had just finished watching two films in the theater and were on our way to the premiere of another film, about to start soon. So, fast food seemed apt, and since the restaurant was nearby and seemed like a good choice, even though neither one of us had ever been there before, we decided to go for it, and what a wonderful decision that turned out to be.
Located right next to a canal in one of Birmingham’s most loved locations, Brindleyplace, Handmade Burger Co. literally spoils you with choices. At first the menu seems simple enough, but a little read though and both Chris and I were left wondering what to order since there was no end to the choices available. Sitting next to the window, as we could watch boats go by in the canal, after about a good ten odd minutes we both finally decided on our food and just in time as, especially for me, mice had started to gnaw the insides of my tummy.
Handmade Burger Co. works on the order and pay first format which in all honesty I prefer since I like that after finishing my food one can leave whenever they want rather than waiting for the bill. The food is served at the table, by friendly staff, and having taken the option of bottomless soda, I was able to get some exercise, albeit by walking to the soda fountain, in-between all the munching.
I had ordered the Greek Burger with extra bacon, because you know, bacon, and was quite satisfied with the size of the burger. The buns were soft (read it again and think of food and nothing else you perverts) and the combination of a juicy and perfectly cooked lamb patty with feta cheese etc. was perfect. It was one of those times where I did not require a condiment with the burger to enjoy it and that always say a lot about the food.
Along with the burger we had ordered a side of hand-cut chips which are highly recommended for being cooked just right and are of just the right size which gives a homemade feel to them. Chris then worked his magic and added some vinegar, salt, and pepper to make them all the tastier.
Unfortunately, since we were in a hurry the lunch did not last long and maybe I wasn’t able to give the food the right amount of time to savor it properly, but nevertheless, it was one of the tastiest lunches ever.
Be it for a quick lunch or a relaxed evening dinner, Handmade Burger Co. makes for a great place to eat. Just remember to hurry and decide on what you want to eat so you can actually spend more time eating and enjoying the food rather than just thinking about it.

Very impressed with the quality of the burgers. I just had a junior falafel burger, which didn't disappoint. Everyone in our party of eight left with smiles on our faces. The service was great. Would go back in a heartbeat to satisfy burger cravings.
It's not best hamburger all around the word but tastes of hamburger and sweet french fries are good. I tried to eat Jimmy's Farm Cheeseburger Classic and french fries made by sweet potatoes. The meat of hamburger was cooked well, so meat was not dry and delicious. I have not eaten sweet potato before. I think it was good too. Prices are fair enough.
Good food at high prices.. I used to work here, so had my fair share of their burgers and salad.
They have a good choice of food available, excellent burgers and a wide variety, as well as good salads. I absolutely fell in ove with onion rings and I've found it hard trying to find onion rings as good as theirs in Birmingham, however the chips are awful and they have practically no dessert menu.
Their burgers are a bit overpriced and for the price I would expect a side to be includes at least.
Very Good. I went there with my girlfriend because we felt like a treat and it certainly was. Its in a nice location along the canal so in the evening it nice and quiet. Its about £10 - £15 per head but it worth it because the food is very good quality. highly recommended.
Went here with my girlfriend, it was rather busy considering it was abit hidden but it was worth it. The staff were helpful and the burgers were cooked to perfection. The burgers themselves come in many flavours, I tried the now-discontinued pesto burger and it was mouth watering. They're quite large so you're tempted to take it apart to eat. Once you've added chips and a drink it comes to atleast £10 each but check the website often, they sometimes have printable vouchers which can save you a few quid.
Ok.. the waiting queue for this place on a Friday evening was long.. but it was worth the wait indeed. The chips was so yum and fresh! The burgers was just so massive and so tasty!! It was not expensive at all and a really chilled out place.
Superb burgers and friendly service. A great choice of menu from the plain to the exotic. It is not cheap but for the quality, I do think it is value for money. Definitely will go again.
This place was recommended by my colleague in Birmingham location while I was on a trip to UK and I am glad she did. The unique place about their burgers are that they are hand cut.
Though the place is a little bit pricey, but its money well spent. I was in Birmingham for two days and for lunch I visited this place for both the days.
Tried the Cajun Vegetable Bean and the Spinach & lentil burger and both were fabulous.
If I happen to visit UK again, a visit to Handmade Burger Co. would definitely be on a priority.
Take a bow Chef !!!
Some of the best burgers I've tried so far and their sides are really good. Don't be mislead by the portion of chips, there is a lot more in the bowl than it seems. Unless you genuinely don't like sweet potato, do not leave this place without trying the sweet potato fries.
The food was great but the service could have been better. Drinks order didn't arrive and we had to ask again when our food arrived. Had a lovely evening though so can't complain!
Nice burger, service quick and efficient. Free refills on soft drinks.
Good value for money! I loved the burger and price is good for what you get. We went on a sunny day, and being beside the canal made it even better. I'd definitely go again!
I'm going to start off with this restaurant is hella over priced. However I only ate half my burger because it was huge, as well as tasty. It's in a nice location but I think they're a little under staffed. I was left waiting awkwardly for assistance.
toller Burger Laden. mit sympathischer freundlicher Bedienung. tolle Lage . einfach lecker. empfehlenswert

great burger shop. with friendly, friendly service. great location. simply delicious. recommended
I went for the 14 oz stack and Denver fries with chipotle dip, I would definitely recommend as it was extremely tasty!
Marvelous...loved the burger, far far better the Five Guys. It was tasty, rich, flavoursome, just perfect with a glass of Malbec....great canal side location...nothing to beat this for the centre of Brum.
Came here before a performance at the symphony hall which is just over the bridge. Staff were great and the food amazing, lovely burgers and quick service.
Awesome tasting burgers but the lack of free dips a little odd. Having to order chips with meals as a side also a little different but my word, the taste is awesome! Staff are just the right level of attentive and are always super polite and courteous. The view is quite special for a little restaurant too and myself and the other half found it all quite an endearing experience that we'll no doubt enjoy again!
Nice variety of burgers including a lot of vegan options. Friendly staff. You need to wait for an available tab. By the way burgers are delicious!!!
