within 60s of placing my order, my papadams reached my table.
It’s been a fair few years since i’ve dined at Akbars, but it was as tasty as ever.
Lamb and spinach was delicious and a generous portion size. (enough for 2)
garlic family naan was as tasty as ever.
butter chicken tasted a bit sweet, probably wouldn’t order that again.
*Ask for takeaway box’s for any food.
Music was really quite loud, but i did go on a saturday night. might be overwhelming for some.
Popadoms with the pickle tray, sekh kebabs, onion bahjis, & lamp chops were delicious. Samosa chaat & masala fish starter were okay. Chicken karai & ghosht karai were very good. Major disappointment was dessert. The gulab jamun was served sliced into pieces & with ice cream. Wasn’t a proper portion, it should be at least 1/2 whole gulab jamuns. That wasn’t worth the money which was a real shame. Ras malai and chocolate cake were nice. Service was very good. Whole restaurant interior needs a makeover, looks outdated.
Another night out trying to find the perfect butter chicken in Birmingham. We chose the family Naan, way too much Naan for 2 ladies. I was disappointed with the Pina colada, way too much pineapple. The butter chicken sauce was the best so far but the chicken was disappointing. The pudding became a joke. As then molten and chocolate fudge tasted exactly the same. The service was great. What spoilt it for me was watching a waiter being shouted out by a young man. If your going to speak with Staff. Do it in private. Apart from that the place was brimming with families and couples
Lovely food as always. Great customer service. Once you go, u will always go back to try and eat something different or Ur lovely favourites.

Visited on a weekday. The place was well organized. Service was impressive especially from the Asian lady who was taking orders. Food quantity could've been better. Great location and ample parking though
This is a very popular Indian restaurant and deservedly so.
Food is superb, and you are asked if you would like it mild, medium or hot.
The family size naan are huge but still light and fluffy.
Parking can get tight on an evening so please book and preferably arrive early as some parking is shared with other restaurants.
Me and my partner went for Valentine’s Day. The service was fabulous. Even though it was so packed we got sat down on our table right on time, and food came so quickly. Zia was so lovely, and the food was delicious. They also decorated the restaurant for Valentine’s Day. Will definitely be visiting soon

Very nice place with a vast menu, not the cheapest.
But was one of the best curries I had in a long time, sag aloo was divine.

Food Quality has started to improve, it’s still has long way to get to what Akbar’s signature taste it served once upon Time. The service has Always Been excellent that hasn’t changed, sadly the restaurant is looking tired mr Shabir stop pocketing ever penny. Spend some back on the Restaurant
Good service and good food. The starters were underwhelming but the mains made up for it. Special mention for the nihari and the beautiful family naan to go with
Very super fast service & we got steaming hot food , even Ashif was very smart & helpful… he came to our table every 5-7 minutes to check about food & services … Achari Dal & Halim was strongly recommended…
My wife and I came for valentines and the food was perfect, it was super busy but we still got great service
