I am usually very critical but I have to admit that 40 St Pauls is the best bar in Birmingham. I went there to preparty and I was planning to have one drink. Ended up spending the whole evening there and tasting 6 different gins. The atmosphere is fancy but also trendy and cozy. The service is excellent. Thank you. I will definitely recommend this place to others and come back again whenever I'm in the UK. �
Wow what a place ! Small room but amazing experience . The staff are brilliant and know a lot about the gins on offer . We fell lucky and got a table without booking but defo best to book in advance to avoid disappointment . A must see place on any visit to Birmingham !
I spent a lovely hour in here chatting to Aman friendly staff incredible selection of gin and a lovely ambience. Knowledgeable to the point of ridiculousness. Loved it

Amazing place with fantastic atmosphere plus great staff & gin gin gin & more gin!!!!! Book ahead and remember to confirm, I didn't confirm and we were lucky that they kindly squeezed us in. Highly recommend!!!!
We went on Good Friday evening after finally figuring out where it was. We hadn't booked but were lucky that they were able to accommodate us. The staff were very helpful and explained how the concept worked as there were a lot of Gins. It is expensive but you can be charged the same price in bars on Broad St and Mailbox for run of the mill drinks. A nice experience will go again.

A few gins unavailable due to suppliers letting them down but the replacements were lovely and a great excuse to come back another time when they are back on the shelves!

Fantastic little bar. I love the exclusivity and Amanjot is super knowledgable and friendly - a perfect host. There is a huge selection of gin and they are served beautifully like little works of art. Will definitely be back.

We were looking for a speakeasy and were happy to have found this place. We thought it was a gin bar, but it seems like that’s not the case anymore. The drinks menu is great and has options. It goes from appetizers, to main, to dessert for drinks which is a great way to present it. We wished there was a very special speakeasy entrance, but liked this place nonetheless. Nice cocktails.
Fantastic little cocktail bar with very high quality drinks and genuine, friendly service from the small team who own it. Maybe not a place to spend your whole evening, but a great start or end to an evening if you’re in the St Paul’s Square / Jewellery Quarter area.
Can highly recommend the El Presidente (which every time I say it makes me think of the Channel 9 sketch on The Fast Show…)
Tiny, cosy space, great cocktails, lovely people. Perfect for a date night or just a stop on a night out with a friend. Definitely book ahead if there's more than 2 of you!
This cool little cocktail was a treat. The staff are welcoming and the decor is super cool. As a drinks and cocktail lover, I was very impressed by each cocktail I had - damn impressed!

Had a sensational evening here. AMAZING gin selection, and nice idea to have a little survey to match you to a gin best suited to your tastes. Intimate setting and great service. More expensive than your regular G&T but that's to be expected when at what was rightfully crowned the best gin bar worldwide a couple of years ago! Already have another table booked for a couple of weeks time!
So this place caught me by surprise. Qwerky unmarked front door that simply says '40' guides you in to a dark, almost 50 Shades of Grey type atmosphere. It's dark, clean and mysterious.
This place is a true hidden gem of Birmingham. One of the finest drinking establishments I've been to not only in the UK, but world wide. You are greated by the bartender who is extremely knowledgeable, kind and welcoming with a touch of good humour. I cannot recommend this place enough for a date if you seriously want to impress. Extremely exclusive and will be added to my regular venues anytime I'm back in the West Midlands.
If you want the best cocktails you'll ever had, go here. Any cocktail you drink from any other establishment won't be worth it. Can't recommend this place enough.
Enjoyed the personalized gin survey for the gin and tonics. I must say I was hoping for some craft gin but learned that I had a couple tanqueray 10 mixtures... Either way, the ambiance is amazing. Love the personalized approach! Beautiful presentation. Great music selection and a wonderful staff!
This is not only one of the best bars in Birmingham, it's one of the best I've visited in the UK. The staff are second to none at what they do and the drinks are sublime. You can see why this is recognized as one of the worlds top Gin bars.
