Fabulous Sunday roast sharing platter. We were hungry but couldn't quite finish the very generous helping. First class attentive waiter Gaz. I would recommend it.
Had a lovley day yesterday mother's day had table booked for 5pm but arrived early at 3.30 asked if we could have an earlier slot said not a problem &seated us straight away waitress came within 5mins with free glass of fizz for mother's day. Came back after few mins to take order starts came within 15 mins & were lovley mains arrived about 10 mins after we finished starter's .All food was delicious & waitress was lovely it's the second time we have been there & both times have had excellent service and food highly recommend it
Great service. Great food. Lovely waiter, had a sense of humour and made us feel very welcome. Some foods/sauces were off the menu but had been replaced with similar items. Didn't effect us but appears to be common looking at review so. Both ordered steaks and they were delicious!! Visit was due to us staying at the Premier Inn for the weekend, so we also ate breakfast there which was again a lovely meal and waitress was very helpful and attentive. Thumbs up π

The filet and rib eye steaks we ordered were cooked perfectly. Can't think of one negative.

was my first visit to bar and block yesterday, we both had the Sunday dinner and it was lovely! Really enjoyed the meal, one of the nicest Sunday dinners I've had in a while, would recommend!

Our party of 5 visited early on a Saturday evening. Immediately we all commented on how good the services was when the bouncer/door men came inside with us to look for our booking, as nobody was at the front of house station. He then made sure our table was ready whilst we got a drink from the bar. Not sure if this is always part of his role but we all mentioned how we appreciated that he made sure we were looked after as soon as we arrived even though we wouldn't normally expect that from the doorman.
There were a number of ingredients unavailable from the bar that meant they weren't able to do some of the drinks we originally asked me. Due to a medical condition of one of our party it was quite difficult to chose an alternative drink from the menu but Emily, our server, was brilliant. She was suggestions and offered to check with the bar if they were able to do certain things to accommodate the requirements of one of our party. We really appreciated this additional bit of patience and good service as it doesn't happen everywhere!
Emily continued to serve us with a smile the whole time we were there. She was brilliant.
We all really enjoyed our food, although disappointed they'd also ran out of ingredients for the mac and cheese. But everything we did have was lovely!
The main thing that let this visit down and why I haven't given it 4 stars are the toilets. The restaurant itself feels really nice, well kept and classy but is let down by the toilets. On my visit there was an odd smell and the floors were dirtier than I'd expect in a nice restaurant. I know it can't always be helped as staff can't be in there constantly cleaning up but it just felt disjointed between the atmosphere and experience in the restraunt to the dirty feeling in the toilets.
We went for a date for a very nice meal. The staff were lovely and friendly. The food was very nice, except the steak sauce was very vinegary, which complimented the steak quite well, but stand alone very strong.
Eton mess was very nice, but couldn't finish it as the fruit taste was also very strong.
Food was good, meat was tasty. Ordered a filet but it did not look like a filet to me in the plate. Possible a mistake somewhere. But I accepted my fate and that was ok. Service is fast and friendly.
Went to celebrate a birthday. Food was amazing π€© 2 4 1 cocktails were fab only thing letting the place down was service , so slow Mayb short staffed. Only place we have ever been that we got our food before drinks??!! But would go again

House salad was good, but I did not like the beef bites on the loaded fries even though the sauce was great
Great ambiance and had live music. The food was amazing. Can definitely spend some good time. The live music was too loud and kind of affected the time spent.

We came here for Sunday breakfast after a late night. It was buffet style of excellent quality, and for the price, I cannot see how it could be beaten. Impeccable service as well made this one of the best breakfasts had. I now have to come back in the evening to try their steaks!
Had an amazing breakfast experience. Dagmara was exceptional with her services and Chef Taren was the best I have ever experienced. The food was amazing. Our day was so great πππππ
Came here yesterday for lunch. We were greeted with a smile and shown to our table where our wonderful waitress, Katie O, made us feel welcomed and ensured we had a brilliant visit. She was attentive and very helpful when recommending things from the menu.
The food was extremely good value for money. Portions plentiful and tasted great and the drinks were very affordable too. Will definitely be returning in future.
We went for bottomless brunch, we were welcomedbto our table, vegan brunch was amazing, I recommend chimi churi veg, service was outstanding. We were served by Jacob who was professional, very friendly and chatty. It was really good to have a naturally personable waiter . We were left with great memories, he's an asset to Bar and Block. Will definitely ho back there. Cocktails are amazing
Service was good and atmosphere. Food was nice but basic. I ordered Sirlion steak and chips. There was no vine tomatoes, onion rings or a bit of salad to make it look a bit more presentable @ Β£24.. Apparently if you upgrade to Β£30 you get a bit more for your money. Just a bit disappointing. If you wanted onion rings etc you had to pay., which I know is the case in restaurants.
Began with a Birra Moretti, which was quite flat and not very good. My second drink was an Asahi, which was a lot better.
I had the butchers block meal for around Β£15. The sausages were cooked to perfection and the sauces were exceptional. I didn't think too much of the French fries.
My date had the chicken souvlaki on a skewer for around Β£20. The souvlaki was superb.
Look forward to returning and trying the steak.
