Was my first proper visit as the last time was in an outside marquee during restrictions in early 2021. Have to say this place lives up to the hype. Brilliant food, and fantastic, friendly service. Beer selection is very limited but there was one I liked so I wasn't put out by it. We ordered quite a fair bit of food, and the only criticism I had was the lamb chops were a bit tough, but those are generally hit and miss in most places. The rest of the food was perfect. It's a bit out of the way for me, but I can see myself visiting again. My entertainment during my meal was watching a health inspector show up at random and thoroughly interrogate the staff! But this did not affect their quality of service in any way!

A great Indian restaurant & bar, with good parking facilities at the rear. The indian menu & food is excellent, offering a wide variety of starters, mains, and desserts. It is a nice restaurant for fresh, authentic Indian dishes. Prices are good, and portions are plenty. The relaxing atmosphere and the service is very friendly and helpful (for the menu & table service). The added bonus is the bar, you can just pop in for a drink.

Visited this place after hearing lots of positive reviews for a good ol sizzler. The lady serving us Preeti was really polite and welcoming. We felt looked after and well served during all our drinks and food so a big up to her and the management for a great staff member! Ok so the food and drinks were OK but I will add we were left a little disappointed as whilst the food was hot the sizzler arrived with very little sizzle at all and lukewarm at best The chicken tikka, wings and lamb kebabs were nice but the lamb chop was extremely tough and chewy. Also some of the onions were barely charred and not nice. Chilli prawns had a 3 chilli rating and were too sweet over spicy and chilli which again was disappointing. I would have given 5/5 if the sizzler and chilli prawns delivered but they did not on this occasion.

This is by far the BEST Indian meal you will ever have! We are obsessed with this place since we discovered it a year ago. We have always have excellent dishes which are consistent every time. The portions are a great size and we end up taking some home with us. I chose this restaurant over lots of others for my birthday meal as it is definitely my favourite. ❤️

If you are looking for a great curry to eat in the suburbs of Birmingham then you have to come here! This has been my first choice for Indian food since moving into to the area 11 years ago. I don't know why I've never left The Covered Wagon a review before so here it is! I'd recommend always calling first to check availability. Due to how good the food is, this place is often packed and we have been turned away before because there's not even a table for two available. However, take away is an option and you can have a drink from the bar while you wait. The entire pub is always immaculate, including the toilets. The waiting staff are very attentive and always ensure the restaurant tables are cleaned up quickly. Our favourite waitress was not there last night (the very smiley lady with the wonderfully long wavy hair) but the staff who served us were very welcoming. There's an impressive range of Punjabi cuisine available to order. The two of us usually order a Wagon Special Sizzler, Mogo Chips every time we go in plus a starter or curry and a naan bread that we haven't tried before. I would highly recommend the Wagon Special Sizzler as you will enjoy that great sizzling sound as it arrives at your table! The fish pakora batter has some amazing spices in it. Another must order dish that we cannot find anywhere else are the Mogo Chips made out of cassava. They are so crunchy on the outside and are something different to the usual potato chips. The food always smells amazing, even before it has arrived at your table. Everything is freshly cooked to order and very tasty. Everything we have ever eaten there in 11 years has been awesome! We have never had a bad meal there. The bill (including two glasses of Pepsi) for the two of us came to £47.95. This is good value when you consider the quality and great big portion sizes. It is almost the law in The Covered Wagon to leave with a doggy bag! There are tvs of various sizes in there showing sport (usually football). It is also family friendly. Even though it is classed as a pub, I've never seen anyone going in there just for drinks. Everyone is eating so it is more like a restaurant with a pub bar in the middle. I'm glad to have lived near this place for so long. I always enjoy eating here. Now I've moved out of the area, I always try to go if I'm in the Moseley area.

Enjoyed a Sunday lunch with a difference. I remember when this place was a pub but first visit since it became a Indian food restaurant. Very child friendly and saw lots of families of different generations so something for everyone. We tried the large vegetarian sizzler along with Mogo chips, Aloo Gobi and garlic & plain naan. All very tasty and perfectly spiced. Service was friendly and prompt. There is a carpark but nearby on street parking too and noticed bike racks at the front. Based on experience, booking is recommended.

Fantastic service. Visited for my mother's birthday and the staff couldn't do enough for us. They were extremely attentive, all our food came out together and was extremely enjoyable. They executed our birthday cake perfectly and provided knife, plates and cutlery for us all to enjoy it. Food was very good, portion sizes were massive and our party enjoyed the Sizzlers, veggie options, Currys and biryanis! For a large table and everything to go smoothly we were extremely impressed. We will be returning 👍🏼

Visited this place on a couple of occasions in the past two months. On a weeknight, and on Mother's Day. On both occasions, the place was buzzing, but the service was quick and friendly. This desi-pub offers table service. On both occasions, the food was top-notch. The large mixed grill is ideal for sharing between four, as sides, if you're ordering your own curry. The biryani could have been shared between two people - it was massive! They were more than happy to let me swap my sauce to one of those on the menu: bhuna; curry; masala etc. I'll be coming back soon!

Lovely, clean restaurant. Ordered the mixed grill platter, chicken tikka masala & lamb Rogan josh with keema + plain naan. Large portions, plenty of meat & sauce( ended up taking some home) The Rogan josh & keema naan were the best I've tried in a long time.
