Visited as a large group which meant we were sat on a large table in the middle of the restaurant. Unfortunately the staff had to squeeze past us and the door opening/closing was annoying.

The food was excellent, all steaks were cooked perfectly and can definitely be recommended. I think returning as a couple will be a good option.

We visited this as a family and everyone enjoyed their meals. The steaks, I am told, were excellent, unfortunately having a fish allergy, I was not able to try the steaks because they are cooked alongside shell fish. The 12 hour cooked brisket was an excellent alternative.
There is a lively atmosphere and the service is excellent. There is a particularly good Argentinian Malbec on the wine list, which goes well with the meat dishes, 'Porteno Malbec'. We all thoroughly enjoyed this wine, those who chose sea bass were also very pleased with this choice. Why only four stars? The limited choice for vegetarians, the contamination of the steak dishes with fish and it is bit pricey.

The first time I ate at Fiesta del Asado I strolled over to the open kitchen after my meal and asked who had cooked my steak! The chefs looked around at each other, slightly nervous and concerned ... but when I told them it was the BEST steak I had ever eaten, the smiles quickly spread!!

Since that day I have lost count of how many times I have dined at this superb establishment but the food has been consistently great...

Fiesta del Asado is an absolute must for anyone who loves their steak - and actually for any other food lover!

Wonderful food. A menu filled with mouthwatering delights. Well prepared and customer service second to none.
The main course is generous and expertly prepared. I fully intend on returning. That is the best compliment offered. I highly recommend it to you.
The down side. It's very noisy, difficult to hear the good conversation and company that goes well with a good meal. The car park is too small, so take a taxi or park elsewhere. The main courses are mix and match; you chose a meat then add extras of vegetables and sauces but the meat dish is enormous. This means the average three course meal is in excess of £40 excluding drinks and tips.
But let me repeat myself- I couldn't recommend this Resturant enough and am looking forward to a swift return.

Last week it was my birthday, so I decided to treat myself to a celebratory meal at Fiesta Del Asado with a few friends. Everyone I’d spoken to about this place waxed lyrical about how amazing their food was and what a wonderful atmosphere the place had, so we ventured up the Hagley Road for our first experience of Argentine cuisine. On arrival, it was quiet but had a homely and welcoming feel. The open kitchen filled the dining room with sounds and smells, and the staff were friendly and attentive to our every need. After perusing the wine list, we quickly decided on a bottle of Malbec to share. When in Rome! Now, I don’t profess to know anything about wine, and I’m not usually one for red, but this was really pleasant, with enough fruitiness for me to enjoy. Then it was onto the food menu. Loved it! This place is really recommended! Ordered their Sea Bass and tiger prawn linguine (was really hungry). The crispy grilled texture of the sea bass looked really good and it tasted great! The pasta had a thick tomato sauce with a subtle taste of spices. I really enjoyed it. I also tried the Yerba Mate Tea which was decent (similar to green tea I suppose).
Staff are friendly and the place looks good. The seats looked classical but to be honest were not that comfortable however that was not a big deal.
Overall, I really enjoyed their food and will definitely be back some other time insha'allah ?

Visited this restaurant on a bank holiday Sunday for a birthday meal. This restaurant is of a high calibre and the price reflects this so I have reviewed it accordingly.

First off, the menu can be expensive but the value for money was good - about £300 for 6 with mains/ a few desserts and a fair bit of alcohol (I think it was 3 bottles of wine a few shots and a few beers). We were feeling indulgent so ordered 2 of the larger sharing dishes, 3 normal mains and 6 sides. Considering it was a bit of a feast I think the price was reasonable.

The restaurant was misleading from the outside, looking at face value to be a rundown building on Hagley Road with an Argentine flag outside and limited parking (reasonable at the back looked a bit dodgy for the cars parked at the front). Once inside it was a different story. Well presented staff in a comfortable setting in style with the restaurant. It is ideal for special occasions or intimate dinners.

I found the service to be of the highest standard and was suitably impressed from booking to the end of the meal. We felt welcome upon entering and our waitress was attentive throughout. She explained each dish and discussed the options to the less experienced diners amongst us. More importantly, she explained how each cut would be when cooked which was quite helpful for the larger dishes (they have a 40oz t bone which was cooked pretty well considering its size).
I did notice that the staff taking the orders were much more professional than the staff serving the meals. The restaurant was absolutely packed and I noticed the serving staff squeezing past customers and even forcing themselves in front of customers being seated. The overall service was very good however and enough to compensate for this minor occurrence (however I wouldn't expect customers to be brushed aside in any restaurant let alone on of this calibre).

The food itself was brilliant. Well seasoned and well cooked cuts of beef and chicken. Very tasty sausages on the mixed grill and a good flavour to all of the sides. I would say that if you order the large 40oz t bone to ask for it to be seasoned more as it was lacking compared to the other dishes, which i suspect is a problem when cooking such a large cut. Towards the end we asked for part of the t bone to be cooked a little more as it was too rare for our liking and they were happy to oblige). Oddly enough for a steakhouse I thought the sausages and chicken of the mixed grill were the best parts of the meal!

I was slightly disappointed with the short ribs that were ordered as having had this cut abroad in south america in the past I held very high expectations. I came expecting them to be cut long with most of the bone intact, however this is actually only part of the short ribs with the majority of the meat being from a different cut. Our waitress did explain this and even pointed out that it will be a lot tougher than expected (which it was). It was well seasoned however but I wouldn't be able to recommend this dish.
Desserts were ordered with 2 of us opting for the churros and one portion of the orange pancakes. Pancakes were great and the ice cream that came with it was dense, creamy and one of the best I've had. The churros wasn't fully cooked through and was like a soggy donut inside. We pointed this out to our waitress who agreed and quickly had a replacement made. The replacement was better but still a bit of a soggy inside (maybe a bad batch?). We accepted this one so we could finish the meal. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had removed this from the bill without any prompting from us.

Wine was great and the atmosphere all around was fun. Considering every seat was full with a few covers, I was surprised how well the standard of service was held too. Overall a very good experience which I would happily visit again.

On a bitterly cold snowy night I ventured to the recently opened Fiesta del Asado. Claiming to be Birmingham’s first Argentinian restaurant, it has a fine pedigree, backed by the owner of famous Indian restaurant Lasan. As a steakhouse, Fiesta del Asado offers barbecued food cooked over wood in an open plan kitchen.

Atmosphere

Situated next-door to the Strathallan Hotel on the Hagley Road, it is very easy to find and appears to have ample parking. On entering you are warmly greeted and shown to a bar to the right with seating. As we were the first people in that night, it was quiet to begin with but soon filled up and had a good atmosphere. Tables are nicely situated that you don’t overhear others.

The decoration is pleasant but not entirely to my liking: an exposed brick wall with metal bread oven doors dominates the room, and a couple of wooden Welsh dressers either side at to the rustic cottage feel. At the back is an open plan kitchen showing the chefs busy at work on the large Asado (barbecue).

As the weather was so poor, a meat feast was what we’d come for and a meat feast is what we ordered. To begin with, we ordered embutidos y quesos (below, £13.99 for 2), which included a very good selection of sliced cured meats, pickles, cheese and bread with sobrasada (a rich pork-based spread), plus olives, tomatoes and artichokes on the side. The quality of the meats was stunning, with good presentation, and the quantity was perfect for a starter.

For the main course, we chose the parrillada mixta (mixed grill - £32.89 for 2). This was meat heaven. Several barbecued meats all served on a large platter. The succulent, very rare steak was one of the best I have ever tasted, perfectly seasoned and incredibly tender. There was also plenty of pork, chuletas de cordero (lamb chops), alas de pollo (chicken wings), salsicha criolla (tasty mini sausages with a citrus flavour), chorizo and morcilla curada or black sausage with garlic and paprika (for me too overpowering). The selection was served with a small dishes of good sauces (chimichurri and malbec), and a couple of bowls of hot fries to round it off.

My guest decided that he needed dessert, whereas I decided another beer was in order for me. The almond and orange tart served with honeyed ice cream looked good and seemed to disappear very quickly (so it must have been good).

We indulged in some Spanish black beers and Argentinian lager beers, followed by a couple of glasses of very good red wine, which went down very well with the meat feast.

This is a welcome addition to the Birmingham dining scene and without doubt I will be back. It had some of the best meats I have eaten out for a long time. Prices are in the mid to upper level, but when you consider the quality, I think it’s good value.

First time going there tonight for celebration dinner. We are both big foodies, and love Argentinian food. It was exceptional; beautifully balanced, impactful with absorbing flavours. Our steaks were perfectly cooked with all the flavours you would want to find with Argentinian barbecue, all the way through to the last bite. Hoi and Manuel were both very thoughtful, entertaining and attentive servers, and made our dining experience a very happy and pleasant one. Can't wait to go back already!

I’m extremely satisfied with the service, I’m amazed. The food is spectacular, truly extraordinary. I’m positively surprised. The meat is super tender, from the starters to the dessert, everything is excellent. The service is also outstanding, with a very welcoming atmosphere, I felt very well-received, as if I were at home. A special thank you to the chefs and to Manuel for the service and treatment.

We went here to celebrate my birthday yesterday, the first time here and the food was amazing. I had the black sausage starter, stirloin steak, and churros dessert. Everything was good, just the portion is slightly small for my partner... but we both really enjoyed it and will come again.

This is one of my favourite steak restaurants! We've been going here since 2017, and every single time we have always ordered the 'Bife Costilla'. Literally, that's all we ever eat here because it's so good! It's interesting how the Bife Costilla has changed over the years. The price has definitely gone up these last few years, but the size and weight has increased as well. There was a time when it came with steak sauce and fries, but now this isn't included in the price (probably because there's 1kg of meat already on the plate!) However, the quality and tenderness of the meat has always remained the same and this is why we always come back! Of course, great service from the staff as always! We have also seen some staff start from waitresses to becoming managers over the years, and although we are strangers to them, it's nice to see how they progress! Great place, amazing service, and outstanding food!

Amazing Restaraunt, can’t believe I haven’t come here sooner! The food is excellent and the drinks are awesome. We were very lucky to get a table, definitely reserve because the place is very busy in a positive way. My wife and I did our gender reveal tonight and Maria was amazing, from start to finish. We will never forget it and the Restaraunt is lucky to have Maria, and indeed all of the staff!

All the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. Mocktails were delicious and steak was the best I've ever eaten.

Fantastic steak and service including excellent cocktails that I had never tried before and made by Leandra. El barrio card also a great idea. Only suggestion to improvement - tables were a little sticky.

Great atmosphere, great food. If you are there in the summer then sitting outside feels like a holiday. Great service from our waiter Daniel, I highly recommend.
