What a find. Located on the High St near the junction with Hagley Road, it is owned but the irrepressible Roly who is always on hand to provide a personal service. We have learnt to dispense with the menu and put ourselves in his hands. Always delicious, always different, we have tried almost everything on offer. The tamarind sauce accompanying the poppadoms is piquant. The lamb is always tender and the okra is outstanding. You will have to book to secure a weekend table as it's always busy with repeat custom.

Update 8/9/23 We decided to eat in the restaurant last night. The food was excellent. The food, service, atmosphere and attentiveness of staff was all 5*+ Toilets are clean and modern, as is the whole restaurant. I'd definitely recommend eating in. The menu is slightly different to the take away menu, but just as good if not better. Tried this place for a take away today. The food was hot and fresh. The service was first class. The establishment itself was modern clean and welcoming. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is free parking on the high street.

Another lovely meal at Purnima last night. Warmly welcomed by excellent staff who provided great service. Star of the show was the butter chicken but all meals are delicious. Highly recommended.

We’ve had such a lovely meal here tonight. Every bit of it was delicious- from the chutneys that accompanied the popadoms to the mains. Really flavoursome and fresh. Staff were friendly, service was excellent and they even double checked my food intolerances. Very good value overall.

Thank you for a wonderful meal this evening. The food was absolutely fabulous, the star of the show was the lamb achari - aromatic and smokey with amazingly tender lamb. The staff were friendly as always and really looked after our family and were great with the children. The quality of the cuisine has been impressively consistent over the years. We are extremely lucky to have this restaurant on our doorstep!

Well where do I start? This place is our local and definitely deserves so be praised as the best curry we have ever experienced. What a taste sensation! Staff always friendly, greeted by a lovely young lady with a genuine smile and warm welcome. My dad and I decided to take away tonight and both agree this review had to be made. We would highly recommend this place if you want a memorable experience and quality food. Thank you once again 🙏

We were here for dinner along with around 35 colleagues. Awesome hospitality. Good food along with choicest of liquor available. Staff extremely quick. Food quality was very good. Very well maintained. Deserts were also good.

Food was of high standards.. a tiny bit more expensive than others on bearwood road.. but worth the little extra.. especially for dining in.. the lady at front of house is cheerful and helpful.. Will go back again 👍

My Italian partner and I brought a couple of Italian boys here for their first experience of Indian food. Not only did they like everything, but even I was impressed by the quality of the food, the decor, and the atmosphere. It took some time for the food to be served, but it was well worth the wait. We shared a selection of starters, all excellent, as well as three main courses. The balti and the mixed grill tandoori were superb. The reasonably-priced wine accompanied the food well. The coffee received an Italian's seal of approval, and the brandy in a warmed glass was a perfect end to the meal for me.
