I recently came for a meal to celebrate my 5th wedding anniversary and I was delighted :-) We were given a candle lit table at the bay window and it was perfectly romantic. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming and the food was superb. We will definitely be re-visiting and I'd highly recommend to anyone :-)

Had a gorgeous meal here tonight. Burgers were tasty. Son had steak, that he says was cooked just right, rare to medium. Puddings were top class. All well presented and tasted very expensive. Our waiter was very helpful and friendly too. We will all be back.

Lovely hotel very welcoming. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was fantastic it was nice having 2 armchairs in the room so we could both sit comfortably to estch tv. We spent time in the bar which was very large and atmospheric. Will certainly go back again.

Another lovely roast today at the George, even better as it was only £5 on the Facebook offer. Compliments to the chef.... Keep up the good work!

I love this place. I always arrange to meet up with chums here for lunch. Everything is just right from the friendliness of the staff to the quality of the food and as it's just off the A417 it's easy to find for my visitors. We use it as our local as we live just in Gloucester. x

Had a lovely 4 night break with family. Nice rooms, no lift but my 86 year old Mother managed very well. All staff very friendly & helpful, especially Carol on the front desk. It was my brothers birthday while we were there & they helped with our celebration bringing out a cake, singing happy birthday & gave him a card. Good selection for breakfast & evening meal. Would be happy to stay again some time. Thank you to all.

Went for a family meal and was a central location in the UK for us. We came in 2016 previously. Food was SUPERB, just lovely. We all had a roast dinner and a pudding. Service was very polite but a little slow, not their fault; they were rushed off their feet. Could have done with an additional pair of hands. Would come again and would recommend.

Had a roast and beef was tough staff very quick to apologize and change our plate. All I said was don't advertise it as pink and tender and then serve dark and tough. That's down to the chef restaurant staff were great

We were sure in need of a good bed after a long day on The Cotswold Way. We certainly found that here, so comfy we slept in! There was a very warm welcome from the reception staff and a welcome drink at the bar. We had a solid pub dinner which was needed as was the full English Breakfast as the next day is a long one! Highly recommended

Lovely, spacious hotel. Staff very friendly and comfortable room. The food was not very good. Garlic mushrooms were dry inside. I had to send the Hunters Chicken back because it was so tough I couldn’t cut it or chew it. It had obviously been microwaved. The onions rings were also tough and dry. The replacement was better but not great. The waiter was very helpful. I think it’s the first time I’ve ever sent a meal back. Breakfast was excellent.

Popped In with 2 friends for Lunch. Wide range on Menu. Food was decent quality without too much of a wait for the food to be served. Reasonably priced Food and Drink.

Review of pub/ pub garden/ food not hotel: A very pleasant find and ideal for what we wanted after exploring the local area all day with dog in tow. Lovely setting with walks direct to work off a few calories after! We were good this time and didn't return for puddings! Sat on patio in lovely garden. Garden having an upgrade so we were slightly in the shade early evening. Good options and fairly priced as you'd expect. Staff ensured dog was provided with a few biscuits and there were water bowls etc.

Super nice staff. A great pub right on the premises. Both the beef pie I had, and the traditional English breakfast were well cooked, served piping hot and were absolutely delicious. They even let me check in a little bit early. My only complaint is how thin the walls are in the rooms. I was pretty sure my neighbor was either running a chainsaw all night, or had undiagnosed sleep apnea. Unfortunately, because of the thin walls, I got an earful. Great location, I would book it again and pray for a quieter sleeping neighbor.

What a lovely place. We spent 2 nights here recently and enjoyed every minute. The staff, the rooms, the food were all spot on. Sadly the weather wasn't very kind to us so never got the chance to sit out in the gardens but they did look lovely and well cared for. No complaints at all, would highly recommend and hopefully we will return for another few nights

Only went for a meal and drink, as it's local. Food good came quickly, beer 🍻 local and of good quality! Greene King pubs follow chain standard but this pub is much nicer given its environment! Service could be improved slightly, locals getting preferential treatment and a little slow

Great place to meet friends. We attend monthly as part of a car club and staff very welcoming. Only reason not 5 stars is we are unable to reserve a big table in the bar area so it's always hit and miss on getting a suitable table depending on how busy it is. Apparently, only the restaurant area can be reserved. That said, we always enjoy our visits.

A lovely place with amazing food. Defo tip if you ain’t that hungry order a kids breakfast as it’s huge! Haha. Lovely people, lovely staff, lovely food in a wonderful part of the world. There is loads of access to epic woodland and countryside walks through the back of the car park. A super resource not to be missed.
