Had a fabulous evening last night at the Wheatsheaf. The food was sublime- the duck cooked to perfection and the jus so tasty I had to stop myself from licking the plate! Generous cheeseboard was shared between 3 and the baileys cheesecake was light and yet really creamy and was the effect topping on the gorgeously crispy biscuit crumb base. Our waitress Laura was delightful and the wheatsheaf manageress was attentive and was happy to chat with her customers! Added to this fabulous evening were the cherry champagne cocktails expertly mixed by Dav. The live music was excellent although a little too loud for the dining room but the singing was extremely good. My only suggestion would be to review the wine list and get a couple of nice NZ or Australian Sauvignon Blancs added to it. Superb evening!

Eaten here half a dozen times now and never had a bad meal. The Sunday lunches are a pound or two more than you would pay at the larger chains but its still great value for money and there is no comparison on quality. Another big plus point for me is that they are happy to bring more gravy unlike other resturants I have eaten in. The lunches are just as good with lots to choose from and you get a good selection of specialist brews, I once had rhubarb cider out of curiosity and it was amazing. Well done and keep up the good work.

The tastiest afternoon tea I’ve ever had & it’s fair to say I’ve had plenty!!!!!! Since reopening my partner & I have called in for meals numerous times & introduced lots of family members & friends to their lovely food & excellent service! I thought I’d invite a couple of friends to try out the afternoon tea; we defiantly weren’t disappointed!!! I’ve been to numerous places for afternoon tea but never received anything as tasty & Home made! We popped in yesterday, after hearing so many good reviews, it was lovely! Everything was home made & beautifully presented, we were offered extra sandwiches, refills of tea too. To know they do it all year round is brilliant, we’ll continue to recommend this lovely place to everyone we know! Thank you again

We visited today for lunch and ate from the early bird menu. Food was fantastic and at such a reasonable price. Our child ate for free as it was a Saturday and such a selection of drinks to choose from! Our favourite place to visit when going out for lunch or dinner!

We eat here frequently with two young children as the food is always fantastic. Very reasonably priced and when the childrens free meal offer is on it's even better. Staff are always friendly and service is good. The portions are huge too so you get good value for money.

Went to the Wheatsheaf on Sun March 12 for lunch for two family birthdays. The service throughout was excellent, and the food superb. Real ales on tap were well kept and it was a really relaxing atmosphere. Big thumbs up to all the staff.

We were traveling through Bingham on the way home from a long weekend away. We stopped at the Wheat Sheaf just before the kitchen closed and they happily accommodated my girl friend and I for dinner. The menu was really quite appetising and we were hungry so decided to order a starter and after mains we shared a dessert. All three courses were absolutely fantastic, classic like pub dishes with a luxury and artisan twist. Hats off to the kitchen, great presentation and next level flavours of a well priced menu. We will definitely stop here again when passing!

On Saturday 9 September the lovely Sue - the bride - and me held our wedding reception at The Wheatsheaf. We had a fabulous day and all the arrangements ran perfectly on a very hot day indeed. Despite the heat staff remained cool, calm and collected throughout providing us with excellent service, communication and provision which made everyone present feel, comfortable, valued and appreciated. From the outset of our planning for this special occasion Jess the restaurant manager and Matt the head chef provided us with first class liaison, discussion and fantastic accommodation of our needs and wishes. Access to the restaurant facility to prepare for the big day was excellent and enabled us to have all details attended to with precision. The three course meal provided was of excellent quality and exquisitely presented. Service from the on duty staff was first class, thoughtful and fully accommodated the scheduling of the occasion. Dressing down the room after the event at the end of a long hot shift was completed efficiently and considerately by Jess and her excellent team. Guests who used The Wheatsheaf's rooms were equally satisfied with the care and consideration they received. All in all an absolutely fantastic experience and one that will live long in our memories. We could not have had a more joyful, enjoyable experience which cemented our marriage into everybody's happiness on the day. And all at a cost which anyone considering a smaller function for 30 or so guests should really consider as an option...we even managed to squeeze in one "gate crasher" on the day! Thank you The Wheatsheaf for a truly outstanding experience and one we will never forget. Very happy days. Keith John - the Groom

Just spent 3 nights here. Cannot wait to return. Bed comfy, shower amazing, so clean and the continental breakfast which you put in the fridge in your room is an excellent idea. Staff so friendly and welcoming.

Stayed 2 nights for a wedding nearby. The room was fantastic! Very comfortable bed, great en-suite bathroom with powerful shower, extra soundproofing on the windows (they overlook the street). Hugely impressed with the breakfast bar which had a range of healthy options plus some treats (super impressed with the vegan muffins). All the staff were friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We had lunch in the restaurant just before we left and, again, it was top quality. Would definitely stay here again and, in the meantime, I’d highly recommend it to anyone.

We've been in here numerous times and never had a bad meal. The food is very much a step up from pub grub, this is restaurant quality. Would happily take a "foodie" here knowing that not only will there be something they like but that's it's well cooked. The menu changes on a regular basis and everything is cooked to a very high standard. Prices are very reasonable too for food and drinks. The bar area itself is very cosy with a really good selection of beers on and plenty of guest ales on a regular basis. Excellent pub/restaurant that I plan to support for many more years to come.
