We haven't been to a Tiptree Tearoom for ages. Always enjoyed it. This was no different. As a bit of a fussy eater what I like most about the Tiptree version of afternoon tea is that you get a choice of one filling each which means when there are usually the three of us we get to choose three fillings we all like and then we mix and match that way, so much better than getting fillings I don't like. And boy are these sandwiches filled. No cheap ingredients here. And instead of putting mustard, relish etc in the sandwich it comes as a little pot on the side. This time there were six of us. The table was set ready for us. The staff were lovely, chatty when with us and so attentive, nothing seemed too much trouble. The food was delicious and the variety of cakes were good. The sign of a good scone is to able to break it open neatly without using a knife and these were good scones. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. The shop is a little on the small side but had a good selection. Was able to buy my favourite, old times marmalade.

Amazing, great food, especially the afternoon tea, lovely staff really accommodating. My daughter has nut and dairy allergies and they were so attentive and made her feel like she wasn't missing out on anything. They let us use a soya cream we brought and let us keep it in their fridge while we went into the farm.

Wonderful service from the staff in the cafΓ©. Really friendly and attentive. Food was pretty good, with plenty of options including afternoon tea with plenty of variety. Quite expensive for what it is, but nice for a treat. Small amount of outdoor seating for warm and sunny days

I have visited the tea room a number of times and the food is always good, the service and staff is always good and it has a nice atmosphere. The staff always remember you and make you feel welcome. The one downside there isn't many vegetarian/vegan options but the food is good

I love coming here. You're always greeted with a happy friendly face. The food is spot on. My recent visit was during lunchtime at the busy Easter period (school holidays), after ordering food we we're advised food was going to be slightly delayed as the kitchen was very busy which we really appreciate being told rather than sitting waiting and having to ask. To me that is a sign of fantastic customer service. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a lovely place to stop for lunch

Lovely cream tea on our trip to barleylands. I would however book in the future, as whilst they were so kind to seat us, they were very busy!

Come here every year during/after the Essex Sausage and Cider festival across the road. Absolutely Stunning food, the staff are awesome friendly and polite. The restaurant is spotless and so are the toilets. If you haven't tried this place yet your missing out... Currently sitting in the restaurant as I write this....

Ploughed my way through the ploughmans... Was almost jam packed, but they managed to accommodate us despite not having booked on the 1st Saturday of half term..

Lunching at the Tiptree Tea Room & Cafe in Barleylands craft village is comfortable and inviting. The staff are friendly and service is fast but we are never have never felt rushed. We have been very lucky and are able to visit Barleylands each week have lunch and a good catch-up at Tiptree Tea Rooms. We always feel welcome by all the regular staff and there temporary staff that look after us during the busy like Summer Holidays and Christmas. This is a big thank you from Helen.

Whilst the coffee in the cafe was weak and the cake we had with it was made with horrible chocolate, the prices were...wait, no, they were high too so disappointed in that. But the next morning out walking my dog, the lively lady made me a drink even though they were not really open...Needless to say I had tea. Also got given some toast so full stars now
