You wont be able to beat this fish and chip shop. Their food is constantly excellent with good sized portions. I highly recommend to all!
Not sure if this is a one off, but they were recently closed Tuesday and Wednesday when website states only closed on Sun & Mon.

The Codfather is a chip shop that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying meal. The chips are amazing, and the saveloys are cooked to perfection. I would also highly recommend the curry sauce, which is the perfect accompaniment to the fish and chips.

Surprised they could not do a Hawaiian burger, so had to pop to Tesco - buy my own pineapple and finish construction myself!

I live in London so I always stop off here after a day out at Southend. It is THE BEST fish & chips for miles. The owner is an original London chippie owner and believe me he knows his stuff. They get it right all the time.

New owners in 2017 and the food has improved. I now use this as my prefered chip shop over the one near to where I live.
Chips are now brown(ish) rather than that barely cooked white most places offer and the fish tastes great.
Only bad thing and this may be personal taste is the sausages are awful
I have been to this shop many time and the the food has always been very good with generous portions.
Drive there about 5 miles and back,if you want a good fish & chips,worth the journey !
