lovely pub with great service. We sat outside at the beer garden but it was great to explore the indoors of this 18th century building.

Great place. Food good and very reasonable. Landlord was great nothing too much trouble....he went out and bought a tin of beans as one of our party didn't like peas. Highly recommend this establishment.

Came in this Sunday night for some food and drinks with the family. Lovely staff, very friendly and took their time to make sure to work around some food allergies in our party. 5 stars easy

Not a bad pub. Friends and I ate outside in the sun, which was comfortable. Vegan options could be improved, though happy to see some on the menu!

Breakfast is good and not expensive £9 for two full English with coffee. 2 eggs ,2 sausages, 2 rashers of bacon, tomatoes beans and toast, not forgetting a huge mushroom, all very tasty. Great value and excellent service. Busy Saturday morning.

A busy and friendly pub with a wide range of beers from traditional pub ale to craft beer. Probably the best pub to go to in the town centre as the others have a political slant now.

Wanted a typical English Fish and Chip meal and we not disappointed. Very large cod and mushy peas or garden peas to accompany as well did not disappoint either. Well served and staff very friendly. Will definitely recommend this place and will go there again.

Cute wee country pub with the advantage of being in the centre of town. Decent beers and comfortable environment. Enjoyed lunchtime Friday beers here, but haven't sampled the food. Staff are friendly. Great spot to chill and chat over beers.

Great atmosphere and relatively quiet, so it was actually possible to have a conversation without shouting. The food is reasonably priced and delicious. Would definitely recommend it.

Very long time that I was last here, pre Internet, mobile phones, even personal computers! Same layout but more contemporary with good choice of beers and good food. I won't leave it as long to visit next time!

Lovely clean surroundings and the staff are friendly and welcoming, I had fish and chips with mushy peas and my partner had scampi with chips and mushy peas also and it was cooked to order and it was lovely and hot aswell as being served on hot plates we've been there twice now and the food is first class. Try it for yourself ps it's best to go in the week as weekend's can be rather busy which tells you something 😉
