We enjoyed our large cod and chips at lunchtime, no queue! However, we are sat outside the pub next door this evening, and there is a long queue. Be prepared to wait and enjoy.
PS, even the seagulls left us alone 🙂
Great fish and chips in their sit down restaurant area which was dog friendly too so a real bonus. Our dog was treated to a sausage which was really great. Service was faultless, great place to eat highly recommended.

The only chippy in Bideford with great food and long queues. I ordered using the click & collect. My food was well cooked and great service.
Stopped by this chip shop for lunch after reading some good reviews and were not disappointed! A lovely clean, modern eating area with a welcoming waitress made for a faultless lunch. 2 x Special Fish n Chips (cod, chips, mushy or garden peas) also a pot of tea or brewed coffee for £12.50 per head. Great portions, freshly cooked, not dry or greasy, melt in the mouth batter……could not have been improved upon! Myself and hubby gave this a 10 out 10. Delicious tasting coffee too. Unfortunately we do not live in the area but we would definitely recommend.
I'm incredibly fussy when it comes to chips, I rarely find chips that I like, but these were amazing. So much so I went back and got another portion on another day. The shop looks bright and clean, there is seating available but I prefer to eat chips outside as I think they taste better!! If I'm around Bideford again I would definitely get my chips from here.
This is without a doubt the best cod and chips I have ever had. And so reasonably priced. Very busy restaurant with lots of nice staff. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant. Fabulous.
We arrived on Sunday evening and the queue for the takeaway was coming out the door which is always a good sign.
We decided to eat in so we took a seat and our order was taken quickly.
There was a short delay on the food which was understandable with how busy the takeaway was. It was well worth the wait though the fish was beautifully cooked, white and flakey with a crisp golden batter. The chips were superb as were the mushy peas. The shop even managed to give my wife some scraps which is northerners love but tend to be thrown away down here!
All in all great service, lovely food at reasonable prices and we all enjoyed it thoroughly!

It was a lovely summer's day so we all had our dinner outside overlooking the Bideford quayside. A definite recommend to others!
I was very impressed by this establishment. I went on a busy Friday night with a lot of customers. There was a large number of very friendly staff who dealt with the orders extremely quickly. The fish and chips were excellent.

As was my husband's cod. All 5 of my kids cleared their plates too. I can not recommended Mr chips highly enough.
We'll always pay a visit to Mr Chips when in Bideford, can get busy but worth the wait, I feel the prices are reasonable and you get your money's worth. Good online ordering service as well.
Top tip for the summer, take your Mr Chips to nearby Victoria Park to eat and after, get dessert from the Hockings ice cream truck that's there!
Nice chips. Good service. Busy, but then it usually is at lunch times. Friendly staff and not too much of a wait in the busy period I went in.
A family favourite located across the road from the river. Mr Chips has huge cod fillets, plenty to share. Staff are also very friendly and open to conversation. Must come on Fridays!
Stopped by on a whim the restaurant was spotlessly clean, we were served without being fussed over, food arrived quickly and the fish and chips were some of the best I've had in a long time.

WOW! Firstly the food was lovely. Fish was fresh and very tasty! But the 5 stars is mainly for the fantastic service. We was a large group of 17 who managed to squeeze in the restaurant very short notice. The staff where so friendly and provided incredible service! Thank you for a lovely meal and great service
