Myself, my partner and my 6 year old had the triple Sunday lunch and we all very much enjoyed it! It was all cooked perfectly, aswell as the side dish of seasonal veg. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made our experience relaxed and welcoming. Would definitely recommend!

We found the Bear by chance at the end of a long journey from Dorset. It was 8.30 on a Friday evening and they were busy but we couldn’t have been made more welcome. Delicious food, efficient and friendly service. Well worth getting off the A14 to stop here!

Had recently booked but for some reason had no table in our name. However, found us a table quickly and we had a very nice roast and dessert. All good quality and home cooked. Busy place so obviously popular. Pleasant and friendly staff too which makes such a difference. Thank you

I liked this place although the architecture and interior design were drab and in need of a bit of character. The staff were very polite and happy to help, we always like to see that. They didn't appear to have a huge selection of beers but I didn't feel they needed to in such a modestly sized setting. Although I only had the mussels they were very very good, the sauce especially, I'd be back for that alone. The outdoor area is very presentable and clean with fruit and veg growing in planters and the odd grapevine and a chicken coop to boot although they had seemed to of moved out at the time. Overall it's very clean although not very exciting they serve nice food and beer at a reasonable price.

We had a fabulous time celebrating my husband's daughters birthday! As the menu is posted on-line we pre-ordered your starter and main. The desert and the drinks were ordered on the night. My starter was delicious lashed with a superb amount of garlic, everyone was pleased with their main course....nothing left on the plates!! Always a good sign. The service was excellent helped along by the fact that such a large group had previously selected a dish. I've been here for the second time and I would say it's a guaranteed good night out and recommend it fully.

So lovely we've been twice this week. Really amazing food and plates not overloaded (but you won't go hungry). Nice to see a smaller menu and some specials with everything cooked fresh. Good food for kiddies and was refreshing to see a dog allowed in as well.

Small menu but still great selection (Even for veggies/vegans) and lovely daily specials as well. Warm, homely feel with homegrown produce. Reasonably wheelchair accessible over a compact gravel car park and ramps to entrance, however no accessible toilet facilities.

We received excellent service, staff friendly . Started off with a lovely chilled glass of prosecco with a raspberry. Husband chose steak with chips, mushrooms, tomato & coleslaw. I had lambs liver, mash, selection of vegetables. Both meals cooked to perfection. There was a choice of desserts - I had the chocolate & salted caramel trifle and hubby had sherry trifle. Followed by another glass of wine & coffee.

Really nice pub with good food at fair prices. Regular specials board and roasts on a Sunday. I am not sure if the pub still has links to the Old Cannon Brewery in Bury St Edmunds. They often have entertainment during the week. Definitely worth a visit.

Mix-up with our reservation, but they paid for a round of drinks to make up for it. Service was truly excellent once seated. Food good, but not a cheap option (although still value for money considering the quality). Would definitely go again if there was an occasion.

A great night out with friends. We had a friendly drink in the bar which had a good selection of ales. The ambience in the restaurant was lovely and the food was fabulous with excellent vegetarian options, along with a great twist on the traditional Christmas dinner for the meat eaters among us.

Visited on the first weekend their restaurant opened. The food definitely surpassed your average pub grub. The game terrine starter was excellent, and our mains were cooked perfectly. Food tasted very fresh. Look forward to returning.
