Stopped here for lunch with two friends and found they do a pretty good burger. The Stables pub is in the middle of Danson Park in Bexleyheath. The park is on an old estate with a big country house and lake. The large stables building has been converted at some point, I know not when, into a pub restaurant. The building itself is beautiful, grade 2 listed and built in the 1700s. It's also a great spot to come if you have a family, as there is an impressive modern playground nearby, with sprinklers to run around under in the hot weather and loads of space for the kids. I ordered the emmental and bacon beef burger with fries while my friends had a chicken burger and a grilled chicken breast with chorizo and smoked bacon salad. I found the burger a substantial 7oz and from a good, tasty mince. The brioche bun was nicely part-toasted and it came with a small pot of tomato and jalapeno relish. The melted cheese was very tasty and thick with a big slab of beef tomato. Really nice! The fries on the other hand were not great. They seemed over-cooked, a little too dark and hard, and despite that were nonetheless not that hot. You can get sweet potato fries with your meal, as one of my acquaintances did, and they seemed to be a bit better. But overall not enough attention paid to the chips. My friend's chicken burger was fine and the chicken salad was received well and looked great with toasted thick-cut, rustic bread on the side, plenty of fresh greenery and a generous portion of grilled chicken. The Stables is in a really nice location, and it's especially good in the beer garden at the front on a sunny day. I give them high marks for their beef burger and the cost is reasonable too, about £10-£12 a head, depending on what you're drinking. Worth a look if you haven't been.
Lovely and friendly staff, nice venue within the park, we celebrated my sisters engagement here with an afternoon tea. Staff looked after us well and ate lots of lovely sandwiches and cakes!

This park is Lovely! There is a big green area to walk through as well as some trails. The playground is really nice an it has aquatoys in it. For the ones who wants to spend the day, you can find nice meals and beer on the Pub which is inside the park. The lake is beautiful and my favourite part was the old English garden, just beautiful!
We had our wedding reception in the function room at Danson Stables. The staff were really lovely and helpful. The room was perfect for our wedding and we had lots of areas to personalise. The food was excellent and well presented.
All in all, a great experience and recommended.
Really nice place to sit and have lunch with a view, out of the way of the busy city. Baby friendly too! All the staff are friendly, but specifically Mustafa was great 👍🏻 thanks 😊
Lovely pub with a decent roast dinner. The park setting is the main attraction.
Really nice pub in Danson Park. Squeezed us in on a busy Sunday and service was quick and the food was great. We had the chicken burger, Turkey toast and kids sausages mash and beans - all generous portions. Thanks to Sylvia who was attentive throughout our meal!
Ideal for a family get together, including young children. Food was excellent and good value. There were 14 of us and we all got served at the same time. Good service from the staff. High chairs available. Only thing to be aware of is steep stairs up to patrons toilets if you are elderly. They may be other toilets for the disabled but I don't know. Will definitely use again.
Nice place to stop at after a walk in the park. Good selection of food options including vegetarian and vegan dishes. Long wait for food despite it not being busy. Dog friendly. Lots of parking spacer available (free off peak parking).
Great place to relax and enjoy the ambience in the middle of Danson Park.

Definitely will return.
The staff are friendly and highly recommend them.
I have to eat humble pie !
We visited Danson Stables last year and had an awful experience due to very very loud adults and family on the next table.
Well today's visit was the exact opposite...we took our mum and sat outside, and though busy we were served speedily.
Our meals were lovely and the staff helpful.and efficient.
So I'm happy to say we will return when in the area again.
Fantastic location right in the park. Beautiful outdoor seating, everything clean and tidy. Pub is very well laid out with bar games, private hire areas. Stunning location and very pretty!
Unfortunately there was a real lack of staff and a member of the team advised it was cost cutting measures so there was only one staff member on the bar, even though school holidays. Drinks very expensive and service painfully slow. Food just ok.
Good collection of food and space, serving is fast if you order by APP, no need to wait for the queue at the till. Also good to bring your hairy friend, they are allowed in.
