Fantastic meal again! Great service, especially as it was so hot today! The landlady Sue was very friendly (and funny). Definitely recommend

Great service and great food, no matter what you fancy. My go to pub any day of the week, be it for drinks with friends or dinner with family.

Our very first time that we have eaten out on Christmas Day. What a lovely experience. The food was superb and staff were brilliant. The service that we received was second to none. Thanks to you all and Jason and Sue for a great day.

Food was great. Pub was busy and told 40 minutes. Food arrived within 30 so bonus. Would highly recommend.

I'm a great fan of Adam Richman and the Man vs Food programme, and find watching the show is almost as good as eating the dishes... well, not entirely.

But while the Yanks seem to have a monopoly on pig-out comfort food where do you go to get it in London?

The place I've found, while not being evocative of some Mid-Western pulled pork diner or Louisana crayfish shack, is The Yacht in south-east London.

This pub is part of the Flaming Grill chain and really does serve up a lot of food for not a lot of money. It specialises in steaks and sizzling dishes brought out on a skillet. And its menu seems deliberately geared towards making you salivate. I mean you know a starter of 'loaded potato boats' - potato in its skin with bacon, melted cheddar cheese and sour cream or BBQ sauce - cannot be good for you, but for some reason you just really want to eat it. And it's like that all the way through the menu - right up to the triple choc waffle tower for dessert!

They are also one of the very few eateries in the UK that do food challenges. Here they have the ridiculous 'Flaming Challenge' consisting of two 12oz beef burgers, two breaded chicken breast fillets, spicy chilli beef, bacon and onion rings, covered in onions and melted cheddar cheese and topped off with a giant serving of chips. At 1kg it's not quite Man vs Food material, but I've seen it and it's still enormous and frightening.

If you get through it all they put your picture on the wall.

You can also do a Flaming Wings challenge of 24 hot wings dipped in yellow habanero chilli sauce or get a mega foot-long hotdog, smothered in beef chilli, jalapeno peppers, sour cream, melted cheese and served with chips and corn on the cob. Awesome!

The pub itself gets really busy, with a lot of families in there taking advantage of the good prices (all these dishes are under a tenner). A large 1930s brick building, it also has a play area for kids in the beer garden, so has really positioned itself as a family pub. And there is parking if you're not from the area.

Like most other pubs you order at the bar and the staff are always cheerful and courteous.

A great value pub for some mindlessly indulgent eating.

Back for food! Nice pub grub and extremely well priced. Green king flaming Grill menu! Lovely big pub with a side to drink and another side to eat. Decent pint of larger with plenty of choices. Always seems very busy but service not a problem. Staff polite and attentive. Table reservations can be made. Only started to use here as my local green king is closed for refurbishment . Will be back to try the food ! Plenty on parking

Good basic pub food well presented and well served. Pleasant staff. Clean attractive decor. Tables cleared quickly, so no mess left around. More suitable for adults as the 18 + bar is in the same room and you may hear poor language. It's worth a visit.

A good place to bring children. Very family-friendly as you can sit outside though under cover while the kids play in the excellent playground. Pleasant inside, too. The food is very good value indeed. There are flame-grilled dishes, steaks, burgers, fish and chips etc. The gammon and egg and the hunter's chicken were perfectly cooked. A pitcher of cocktail is about £10.

Lovely friendly pub ,staff very friendly and helpful. Sadly our food was awful . We had flatbreads with chicken. The chicken was like a soup on top of bread . Positive :still had a great evening

you could see the pub was busy but lots of staff around which is brilliant to see this day and age after covid. food very good value especially the kids menu and the kids loved the garden maybe a gate on the children's play area would be good , 👍 for future , had a mixed grill was lovely.bit of steak, nice egg, pork was a bit fatty but other than that it was lovely meal. and came in a good time not to quick and not to slow booked on the day aswell one busy Friday afternoon , maybe we got lucky. the manager lady you could see not to sure of her name but you could see she is doing a good job of running the place. lovely beer garden aswell . Will be back soon.

A decent sized pub with plenty of outdoor space (though you may melt under the covered area on a sunny day) A broad menu with a brutal calorie count next to each item - definitely swayed my choice, but the Chick & Mix Platter was a delicious outcome.

Beautiful atmosphere & staff are always friendly! Grandson lost a £1 in toy machine & straight away staff handed over a gift for him to choose. Excellent food for both adults & children.

Would give this place 10 stars. it's great my first roast dinner in the area since we moved here with my fiancée and we really enjoyed it so much this will be our main favorite Pub restaurant from now on. Prices are reasonable with today's cost of living. The pint of Guinness is also good approved by my Irish Fiancé! Thank you!

Great place for the family: good array of food and drinks and a little playground at the back. We were surprised by all the food options and we have already planned our next visit as it was hard to choose what to eat. They also have a very good food selection for the little ones. The playground in the garden area is a nice treat for the kids who would otherwise be seated at the table the whole time.
