The food and music was good listening to Country and Western with a touch of blues.
With Blue Bayou
I had dinner at the Wheatsheaf last night with my Uncle and Aunt who live locally (I live 70 miles away). The food was fantastic - quite possibly the best ham egg and chips I have ever had. Gorgeous starter of stilton creamy mushrooms. The decor is very tasteful and elegant. There are open fires. Lots of parking and lovely outdoor space for children. Out waitress Bev was faultless, fun and friendly. very highly recommended. I will definitely be back! Thank you!!!! Samantha x
Great pub, great service, great food! This pub is getting better and better!
We wanted a place for our girls to meet before their Year 6 prom. The Wheatsheaf set up a lovely area with balloons, nibbles, mocktails and music which the girls loved. Finished off with photos in the garden. It was a great send off and a lovely memory for the girls to have.
Great to have this pub back open; best it has looked in absolute years! Quick service and good drink selection, too.
Amazing food an amazing staff, would recommend 2 any1 xx
Really nice meal. Even aloud the dog. We sat outside and service was great
Wonderful friendly little spot
Great atmosphere.
Absolutely stunning Sunday roast. Was completely stuffed, with no room for dessert! Extremely well-cooked. Thoroughly recommended.
Four + baby just had the Sunday roast ..... WOW it was brilliant, gorgeous meat , fantastic fresh veg & plenty of everything . The service was spot on & we couldn't fault anything
A very lovely pub ,serving good traditional food ,well worth a visit
We were greeted by a very friendly lady who advised immediately that there would be a delay in any food order as there was an order for 8 that had just gone into the kitchen. We decided to stay and wait, we are glad we did 😄 The food was well cooked and delicious.
The only negative was that a lot of the dishes came with Carolina reaper sauces so we avoided them.
We would go again if we were in the area
We ordered two meals one a half chicken we reckon it was a quarter we also had a half corn on the cobb cut into six pieces to serve two people for the price I wouldn't go there again and would recommend the rose & crown turkey rd definitely more bang for your buck and large portions
Good atmosphere...friendly people...very nice food...much better than it used to be a few years ago...car park was full on a Wednesday evening.
As a 1st time visitor excellent place to come with family eat and chill and enjoy the sunshine
There's kid play area dogs are allowed only outside or in the bar perfect service delicious food great staff very welcoming.
Thank you for a perfect 1st time visit
Absolutely the best.
A pub with an ideal location in Little Common, that I've more often attended to see live bands rather than for a meal.
They have a large car park and a garden which was where I decided I would eat my evening meal.
Despite having a large number of people eating due to the 'eat out to help out' offer, the staff did an exceptional job managing orders. They also had good social distancing measures in place and endorced these in a firm but friendly manner.
Having booked my table for 7pm and arrived at the pub an hour earlier and had a drink, my food order was taken promptly at 7pm and served within 20 minutes. The hunters chicken was perfect, lightly spiced and cooked just right. The pudding was also delicious. The service was extremely friendly. The portions were a very good size and food and drinks were ridiculously good value even allowing for the offer. The atmosphere throughout the pub was very friendly. If I could give 6 stars I would.
Popped in here for a pint and some lunch. Corona measures are good. Table service was excellent - the waitress was on point. Beer was very good however the food was a bit pricey for the portion sizes. Burger and chips is better part of £7 with very few chips and a simple burger... But the quality was there so can't really complain. Overall a nice little pub!
This place has a good selection on the menu and we enjoyed our lunch here
We popped into this pub on the way home. The pub was very nice and the toilets were clean. They had a good selection of beers. We got a burger which was OK, however it wasn't worth the price, and there was very small amount of chips. My wife had a cheese chiabata which had too much mayo and not enough cheese. It wasn't melted either. It had one sprig of lettuce which was abit pointless. But its a good pub if you just want drinks. The waitress was very friendly. Overall I would give this pub three and a half stars.
I had Chicken Tikka masala , it was lovely, chicken perfectly cooked. Sooo good. Will definitely be going back.
My husband had Bass he too loved it. Staff so friendly and helpful. Definitely worth 5 stars.
Went to the quiz night, good fun and a nice friendly pub.
Lovely pint of London Pride. Sports on TV dominates any conversation, otherwise good place to sit and watch the world go by.
I like it. In the area for a few weeks, and needed a local. Made me feel very comfortable and welcome straight away - no weirdness from the staff and the locals. A proper friendly pub, run professionally. Good beers well kept, and a tidy pool table, which is nice! Britain could do with more boozers like this. In the words of the Terminator.........
Thanks for your hospitality guys and girls!
