Drove down from London and in search for fish and chips stumbled across this chippy and we were not disappointed. Fantastic chips and scampi. A real surprise.

I've ordered twice from here now, both times very good. Food portion size is decent and the taste of the food is very good. Not greasy and horrible.

Loved it the fish and chips were the best we’ve ever had, steak and kidney pie perfect and sausages and savaloy again perfect, curry sauce and onion rings best we’ve ever had. 2 guys serving were also so polite definitely 5 star.
The Blue Anchor has parking space down the side of the shop which is brilliant as London Rd can get busy and there is no parking directly outside the entrance. The food here is lovely all cooked fresh when you order and unlike some other places there fish is not dripping with fat, justnice and crisp
I've had fish and chips from here a few times now and have recommended to some of my friends/clients and I must say I'm always VERY impressed! Lovely portion sizes and the fish is always so beautiful and white! If you like a lovely bit of fish and chips for a reasonable price this is the place to go

First time trying this fish and chip shop and I’m not disappointed. The chips are the tastiest chips I’ve had, the fish was delicious, even the curry sauce and onion rings are perfect. Best fish and chip shop in my opinion.
Always excellent fish and chips, decent sized, chunky pieces, crispy batter and plenty of chips. Added bonus is that it's very easy to park as there is dedicated parking to the side of the shop.
Brilliant experience. A large order freshly cooked while we waited in the shop. Hardly a spot of grease on the wrapping paper.
