Can highly recommend Merchants Fish and Chip Restaurant. Freshly cooked food, moist fish, crispy batter and great chips. They also do a great cuppa and the staff are very friendly. Visited a few times and will be going back the next time we're in Bewdley.

The British mini club had our fish and chip shop run to Bewdley with about thirty classic and new minis and two split screen campers.. James the manager on the night,along with his staff provided us with the best fish and chips in Bewdley yet again. All commented on the quality of the food and were very happy. A big thank you from us all. We will be back.

My mom wanted fish and chips for her 91st birthday, so decided to go to Bewdley and go to Merchants, hadn't been In years. We were not disappointed, the food was lovely and the staff were so friendly and polite, they couldn't do enough for mom which really made her day. Thank you x
Took our friend whos over from Canada 🇨🇦 to sample proper fish & chips and as usual we were not disappointed always good. When we were in Canada last year we tried their version of fish & chips nice but not as good as Merchants plus it cost us $70 dollars

Excellent fish & chips. Good sized portions & good value for money. Very popular so you may have to wait a little while for a table but we took friends there & had a very enjoyable visit.

Really good fish and chips, I went for the Haddock which was so big it wouldn't even fit in the box. Great mushy peas and curry sauce.
Everything seemed to be cooked to order and was piping hot.
There is a sit down restaurant but we got a takeaway to sit by the river.
Good value for money too!

GLUTEN FREE CHIPS EVERYDAY in fact all of the chips are gluten free! There is also a gluten free menu, just order these items when you walk in, and by the time you're at the front of the queue they'll be ready or almost ready.
The Gluten free Battered halloumi is to die for. Honestly this is absolutely delicious . I've never had such thick and crispy gluten free batter. Ditto for the onion rings. Dont miss these! Amazing gluten free food!
Most prices are reasonable, but the peas/curry/gravy are poor value, for £1.40 you only get a small dipping sauce sized pot, smaller than a traditional small pot! Bewdley is a beautiful place with lots of spots outside along the river to sit and eat, and there is also a dine in restaurant.
On a brief visit to this beautiful place, we stumbled across Merchants Fish Bar. All we can say is you MUST call in and have something to eat there👌.
Its very clean and plenty of space for you to eat in or take out.
The staff are extremely friendly and more than helpful and accommodating.
We had fish and chips, the fish was amazingly light, tasty and very LARGE. The battered chips were out of this world. It sounds crazy, but having never heard of them before, let alone tried them and battered mushrooms (yummy 😋) I never leave chips, but they beat me unfortunately, however, the staff offered a takeout box if we wanted to take our remaining meals home.
The food was hot, nothing greasy and worth every penny spent, albeit NOT expensive at all and GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY and highly recommended!😍😊.

Cod fillets are second to none. There is the option of light batter rather than full batter - or no batter at all if desired. Salad and coleslaw are available. Staff are excellent and the restaurant is kept spotless.
This is something I have wanted to say for quite a few and even a lot more years than you think! Merchant Fish and Chips, By the River, in Bewdley! No one will complain about your fish and chips and anything else you sell, including pies, sausages, roe and your curry sauce is legendary, because it's just Par Excellence! It's the greatest fish and chip shop in Bewdley! The staff, get it right every time. I cannot say it's inexpensive but it's still worth every penny! Fabulous Everytime. You are just the best in Worcestershire, and I should know! Went to School in Bewdley, from Far Forest, but got my meals from there when I was a younger man. Still the Greatest and always will be😍. Best fish and chips I have had in a long time! Great value for money, food cooked fresh and piping hot. Staff are quite young, so efficient and polite, doing a great job!
Food is decent but slightly pricey for what it is. Wait times can be very long during peak times. Staff were really friendly. Lovely to eat down by the river. Would eat there again though.
We rarely eat fish and chips but were starving and the shop was busy so we went for it. The service was fast and friendly.
We then found a nice spot by the river and savoured some of the best fish and chips we've ever had.
Tasty and fresh fish and chips, curry sauce has a lovely flavour. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Outdoor seating space is in high demand and may take a while to get a table!
Just wanted to say amazing fish and chips. I leaved for 12 years in Cornwall but that was one of the best fish and chips in my life. Lovely and friendly staff. Highly recommend
Absolutely amazing experience, we ordered for takeaway yesterday (24-09-2022) we ordered 14 meals and they were not fazed by this at all. The server just kindley asked if we could wait outside and they will call when the order was ready, not even 10 mins later the order was brought out and was spot on. I had the gluten free cod and chips, the portion was massive and was the best GF battered cod and chips I've ever had. (What an amazing GF menu they have)

The only let down for me was that they forgot to pack the tartare sauce that I'd asked for - I only realised when I got home.

I came to this place while I was walking around Bewdley and it has the BEST fish and chips I’ve ever tried in uk so far! Their fish is very fresh and the chips is tasty and well cooked! Also the staff were friendly and welcoming!
We met friends in bewdley had fish and chips and sat by side of river to enjoy them
One of our party had gluten free and we all had a most wonderful evening in the sunshine
