My first visit the first thing you admire is the beautiful old wooden beamsof Yorkshire's oldest wood frame building, worth going just for that. The atmosphere was great as soon as I walked in, good range of real ales at a good price. The food was good and the staff and customers very pleasant.

Excellent pub that serves a variety of beers, has guest ales that are worth a try (they will let you sample them). Olde world charm with its low beams, it serves food especially platters, the sharing platter is gorgeous:) Service is good and quick. The beer garden is good as well with views of the minster.

The monks walk (formally known as the George and Dragon) was built in 1671. This historic pub has benefited from considerable investment and sympathetic restoration over the years. It has a cosy front bar, a separate room across the passageway with pool table and another larger room at the back of the pub. It sells a good range of hand pulled cask conditioned real ale and a variety of other beers. It's hosts live music, some excellent open mic acoustic Sunday afternoon sessions, with pizzas cooked in the outdoor pizza oven. There is a large outdoor beer garden in the courtyard. A great friendly community pub well worth visiting.

We had a couple of beers in the Monks Walk Inn, during the Jubilee Bank holiday Friday and it was a lovely, friendly, quaint old place. There was a large selection of drinks and a good atmosphere. The beer garden at the back was nice as well.

Great pub. Busy so couldn't sit around bar but plenty of space across the alley and up the stairs. Lovely selection of real ale on offer with plenty of keg beers too. G&T went down well too.

WOW,WOW, WOW!!!!this pub is steeped in history and you step back in time as soon as you walk in the door. Original beams, walls, windows and interior doors with the original fireplace from the 1500's make this "a must visit place". A nice wine menu, good choice of beers and coffees are available. The pub runs from one street to the one behind it with a small narrow alleyway in between the pub and the toilets totally original.
