I was here yesterday for a friend’s birthday party....it was fantastic! Mark, the owner, was so very accommodating and kind and took very good care of all of us. Even though it’s not even their specialty, they made a fully Vegan meal for the party and it was delicious! I would HIGHLY recommend the Red Lion anytime!
My sister booked a table for four at the Red Lion on Christmas Day. We weren't too sure quite what to expect but can happily say you excelled yourselves. The meal was gorgeous albeit more than we could eat - compliments to the chef. The staff were attentive and looked after our needs with a smile.
We would certainly return in the future and would highly recommend the Red Lion to our friends and family.
Thank you all very much. Happy New Year to you all.
Kind regards
Louise Wright
What a great find. Loads of character, outstanding food and brilliant service. Plenty of parking and outside seating.
I have passed this place many times but there is not much to see from the road. Don't let that put you off !
It's lovely inside and there was a log fire going in the outside area. There is plenty of covered space and a big marquee for functions.
The owner is very 'hands on' and very friendly.
I'm going back next Saturday!!
My Husband and I had our wedding reception at the Red Lion.
We were very happy with the venue and Marc and the team were welcoming and extremely helpful. Marc assisted us with all our needs and made sure a great day was had by all.
We rented the bedrooms for our guests and were happy with all of them.
We would recommend the Red Lion as a venue hire and we’re extremely happy with the service and the night that the team put on for us.
Food was lovely, Thank you to the chef, presentation, flavours were wonderful. Wonderful service and well done to the two young men serving. Only gave a 4 star as rooms need an update but extremely clean. Thankyou From a party of 8 . Evening meal 191023
This is a little gem of a pub - enjoyed a delicious midweek lunch here - varied menu to suit all tastes. I really liked my inventive and tasty vegetarian wellington reasonably priced at £13.95. It has an attractive outdoor seating area adjacent to cricket pitch, comfy interior and friendly efficient staff. Independently owned so do visit and support this super place. It has a car park and is dog friendly…..children will enjoy the huge wooden dinosaur and giraffe outside! Oh and it has rooms for overnight stays too…..
Absolutely fantastic pub, staff, service, food, rooms, setting, beers, wine spirits to choose from. A total credit to the owner Mark 👍. We spent our anniversary there last night and stayed in one of the best rooms we have ever stayed in ! A big thank you to Julia, Jack & Ben, and the brilliant chef who's food is Unbelievable! We will be back very soon, as the song goes nothing compares to you 👍😁regards always John and Kate Whittaker
This is an excellent Inn with rooms, well kept real ales and great English food served by attentive and helpful staff. I particularly enjoyed the traditional sausages. The wooden sculptures in the beer garden are brilliant. We will be back next time we come to the area.
What a party! And what excellent service! 40 of my friends and family had the hot buffet lunch on Saturday, 10th June in the marquee. We were grateful for the shade. The menu was super and I didn't change it at all, despite the finicky taste of some of us. Marc and his staff/team were extremely helpful. The bedroom was clean, comfortable and quiet.
Loved it the first time, loved it many times but in our last visit I loved it even more! Super recommended. We've been to the pub, not stayed over, so I cannot comment on the rooms but judging by their overall standards, I bet they are amazing.
I stayed at the Red Lion as I knew it would be quiet at night and because I'd stayed there before and was pleased with the room I had before. My room was in the main block. It was a good size, there was everything I needed. There was a lovely view, it was quiet when the pub closed. I ate in the restaurant and was pleased with the service and my meal. I would definitely recommend this place for dining and staying.
Oh wow! Mates who work nearby (one of whom with us) had eulogised about the food! I'm afraid they didn't do it justice! Had been advised to try the steak and kidney pie, and duly ordered..this is a favourite dish of mine, and I have to say I've never had better! Almost incidental, even to a hardened real ale buff, 🍺 is the local brew, available in 3 strengths, which is great. Service is good, laid back and friendly...and when my mate left his phone on the table and had to go back 1/2 hour later, I had no doubt it would be waiting behind the bar. A most civilised experience, only caveat bring your appetite..my mate 'The Hoover' couldn't finish. Oh and I understand you can book the hotel, rooms and meal for a conference, occasion, or just a 'do' at exceptionally reasonable 😉 rates.
Beautiful country pub with plenty of charm set in picturesque surroundings. Very friendly staff and owner who go above and beyond. I have recommended this pub to many of my friends and one even chose it for his wedding reception, great food live music and a awesome atmosphere 👌👍
Julia and the team were very accommodating in finding us a table when we called in on the off chance after the ladies open golf . Lovely touch having the free appetiser of hummus and nachos . Best steak mushroom and Ale pie ever would highly recommend
Had my wife’s 50th birthday party here and the whole experience was fantastic.
Everything went to plan, staff were amazing, the venue is the best and Mark the landlord is just superb and professional.
We hosted a business networking event (RH Networking) at The Red Lion.
We used the outdoor area....which is just lovely.
The staff were helpful and friendly.
We had a great event and will defiantly go back again.
Absolutely amazing little gem of a place, lovely outside area and the food was incredible. Mark the owner was brilliant and looked after us. Great value aswell I will definitely be staying here again!!
Generally good. Some of the beers were a bit pricey (Neckoil at £7.25 a pint was one), and the bar was a bit small for the size of the overall venue. Other than that, all good!
The toilets were easily accessible for wheelchairs, with just one step into the pub to navigate. Tbh, a ramp would easy to set-up (hint hint ;)
As usual, excellent food and service for our post-walk lunch and relax session 😁Those burgers have got to be the best on Surrey.
Love the choice of music too 🎶
WOW what can I say!! From beginning to end…. Marc and his team went ABOVE and BEYOND to make my partners 40th birthday party SO SO special. From assisting me with the decorations, laying out a beautiful table. We had a buffet, which was absolutely perfect. Staff regularly clearing our table away, and making sure we were happy. Even after the pub closed marc lit the outside fire for us, and even gave us some
Dipping sauces for our marshmallows!! We had a slight confusion with one of the rooms, this was sorted imminently, with Marc allowing us to have an addition room to solve the matter. If you want a venue for a special occasion I cannot recommend this place enough, you will not find anywhere better. There is nothing more we could have wanted. I stayed in room number 9, it was amazing, clean, spacious, comfy bed and a HUGE tv. Thanks so much Marc and to your amazing hard working team! We are already planning are next family celebration. I can’t thank you enough!!
I've not stayed overnight here but have eaten here on a few occasions and attended a birthday gathering here.
It is a beautiful quirky building with lovely staff and great food. The menu is varied and the ingredients of good quality. The outside area is full of character and is a welcoming and fun place to sit and chat with something to see and talk about wherever you look.
Can get busy so I would recommend booking a table.
