Great place lovely and friendly staff.
Food is excellent and well presented.
Good selection of cold drinks I,,e wine lagers and soft drinks.
Ample car parking even though I was with a coach and had to park 5 minutes walk away.
We visited the gallery on the 2nd floor whilst staying at the YHA hostel in the building. It was only open on certain days from 11am, so worth checking opening times on the gallery website. It can be accessed directly from the city walls or from the ground floor via lift or stairs. It is free to visit with donations accepted. Nicely presented with about 20 pieces of artwork on display across the room which was divided into sections. Particularly liked the artwork of Anne Redpath which was on display when we visited. Probably will take 20 to 30 minutes to look round the artwork on display.
After walking around Berwick's walls 15 of us called in for a cuppa and a bit of lunch...lovely surroundings and very helpful and friendly staff...lovely building
Popped in for a meal. Very pleasant staff and delicious food. Have stayed here previously and would heartily recommend it! 👌 😀
Popped in to see the Anne Redpath exhibition. Nice wee gallery. The front door is a bit heavy and could be improved (motorized) for better disabled access.
Nice space.
Good coffee.
Great people.
Verging on the ecstatic...
Best youth hostel I've stayed in. Great bistro, lovely vegan cakes, welcoming atmosphere with meeting rooms for local groups, art gallery with important international exhibitions from major galleries. Great shared and single bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. So much more than a youth hostel.
Visited recently with my daughter and grandsons - aged 3 and 1. We loved it! Such a relaxed atmosphere, inviting play area and delicious hot chocolate with 'chocolate and three' cake😋Highly recommend for all ages! Will be returning 🙂
Total surprise to discover this wonderful venue and experience the first day of The Printed Line exhibition. Lots of superb exhibits including by Matisse, Hockney and Bridget Riley, what a find! Friendly staff and warm, welcoming cafe and seating area. Superb!
Only visited the Granary Bistro, but service was friendly, quick and food was delicious. Vegan and gluten-free options on cakes were nice to see and though I'm not vegan the vegan chocolate cake was to good to resist. Tasted delicious. Had my 2 young children with me and the children's play corner was a real delight. Not massive but enough to keep them entertained while this tired mummy had a coffee and cake in peace.
Great place to get your head down, friendly staff and helpful. Would stay here again. Lots to do, we played scrabble and drafts instead of doing the usual, TV and mobile phone.....
Great food at a reasonable price! Staff very friendly and helpful! Different homemade cakes everyday! Would highly recommended
Great place for a coffee and cake.
Renovated granary with unusual sloping walls and a purple bike leaning against a tree with an adventurous fox in the saddle and a curious duck checking it out. The interior was nicely laid out and cosy. My potato was baked to perfection though the Mediterranean vegetable garnish could have been a little more ratatouille-ish...too dry for my taste. Well worth a visit.
Fantastic place. Love the cakes. Lovely strong coffee and a nice lunch.
Great old refurbished heritage building. Staff brilliant!
Very comfortable freindly place with lots of interesting local facts and great café
