Amazing pub with a beautiful terrace/garden that looks out onto the canal. They serve delicious roasts - the pork crackling was crispy and light! A great pub right by the canal in Berkhamsted which is very dog friendly and has plenty of outdoor seating to cater for that need. Had a great chicken burger and would certainly come back again.
Had a lovely lunch just sitting by the canal the food was superb and the service was great as well. I had a lovely BLT in a ciabatta with triple cooked chips, the wife had brie in a ciabatta and chips. All done to perfection.
Beautiful location and atmosphere. There is also a seating area behind the parking which is really beautiful and will shield us from the rain. The location is perfect really! :) Saw lot of people chatting away and playing board games. Dogs are welcome!
Second visit. Such an amazing canal-side setting. Very chilled environment with excellent food and wonderful staff.
Absolutely loved this pub . The staff are so helpful and willing to that extra mile . The food was delicious and well presented . The triple cooked chips were the best I have tasted 😋 .

Just stopped for a drink, no food was ordered. Was very quiet in there for a Thursday but the weather could have had a bearing on it. Nice place to go.
Amazing pub with fantastic food, drinks and views
Beautiful setting beside the canal. Lovely flower naskeys around really adds to the scene. You have to enter wearing a mask to announce yourself at the bar and can sit out or inside. You scan the qr code on the table and order and pay for everything on the phone. The service was excellent. Young man
This is a beautiful pub, right on the canal. The food is excellent with a fabulous menu to choose from. Staff are very friendly and professional. Cool place, with seats outside overlooking the river. You can watch boats come through the lock. Food was nice and service was fast. There's parking too which is handy. We have been to the Boat for lunch 5 times it is on a lovely party of the canal near two locks. It is a very pleasant place to eat particularly in good weather where you can eat outside watching barges go by. The staff are very pleasant and efficient. A nice place for a pub lunch.
