Friendly welcoming staff. My Room was well decorated but cramped with nowhere to put my suitcase. Excellent shower! The vegetarian breakfast was well cooked apart from the spinage which was incredibly salty and an excessive quantity of boiled potatoes with a hash brown. Overall an enjoyable stay.
We enjoyed a leisurely evening meal here. The menu is interesting and the selection of foods good. A delicious, thick mushroom soup and a fantastic goats cheese salad to start and both chose the smoked haddock with poached egg to follow, which was excellent. Listening to the chef whistling, obviously very happy in his work, was fun too!
We walked into Benson from the Thames pathway and found this lovely watering hole in the centre of town.
The food was excellent and freshly prepared. I had a lovely chicken ciabatta with fries, and it was delicious. Dad had a fish wrap, which he said was equally delicious. We both finished off with a berry crumble with salted caramel ice cream, perfect.
We poth had a great pint of Hook Norton Brewery pale, which was in very good condition. The bill came to a very reasonable £50 including a £5 tip.
The service is very good!
If you are in the area, it's very well worth a visit and a small deviation from your walk a long the Thames.
We spent 3 beautiful days in this cozy inn with it‘s six rooms. We slept comfortably, ate well. The service is extraordinelly friendly. We can recommand this inn.
Great welcoming, friendly place to go for a meal or pint of local real ale. Also fabulous as a hotel. We stayed for 2 nights for a local family wedding and loved it. Breakfasts were amazing as was the evening meal. They have an amazing chef 👨🍳 the staff are lovely. We would happily recommend this place to everyone!
My partner was working in up in Oxfordshire so we decided to make a weekend of it, chose the Crown as it ticked all our boxes; Six nations, dog friendly, good food reviews and river walks nearby, It didn’t disappoint in any respect. The staff were friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble, the room was great, the breakfast was top notch as was the Sunday roast. Can’t think of any negatives, we shall be returning to this gem of a place very soon.

Stayed the night at the rooms above the pub whilst visiting friends in Benson. The pub and restaurant are a clean, contemporary finish of a traditional country pub and we enjoyed a high-quality breakfast there in the morning. The rooms upstairs are classy but quirky – with pops of coloured velvet, a mid-century modern chair, and brass flamingo lamps. Felt more like a boutique hotel room and made for a very comfortable night. Massive thanks to the manager Lexi, who looked after us with infectious enthusiasm from check in to check out. Her level of service was top notch. We will definitely be back!

It was so nice to have the option of having a small dinner which was perfect for me & left room for the Pear & Apple Crumble which was yummy😋
This is not a traditional pub, it is more like a restaurant inside. But the food is great. Traditional English pub food at its best. The Hook Norton ales are as good. It is great for families as children are very welcome and the space is big, so a party like ours, that although usually we enjoy the sound children, on this occasion we wanted a bit of peace, can easily find a corner.
We went to The Crown for dinner last night and the food was absolutely amazing. The choice and quality of food was excellent. The staff were incredibly friendly, very helpful, and we will definitely be coming back very soon. Highly recommend!
