Overall a good experience. Nicely laid out, simply decorated but good spacing between tables. Service was good, attentive and friendly. Restaurant was clean and tidy. Food was good overall and well presented. Parking is available close by the site and there is a small shopping centre across the road that offers spaces without restriction. Good value overall when compared to other restaurants in the area. Limited wines available but good choice from the bar otherwise.
We sat in the conservatory of the restaurant which might have impacted our service...it felt very much like we were forgotten about and it was quite hard to flag down anyone to order food and drinks, and pay at the end.
The food was decent, I had the Persian prawns, crispy pork belly and some chips - it was very nice but extremely rich so a little sickly, if I were to go back I'd make sure to order something lighter with the heavier sounding tapas. My partner had a pizza and said it was OK, but nothing special.
Also felt a little pricey for the quality of the food and service.
Would try it again but wouldn't write home about it
My partner and I went on the off chance and the very friendly staff member behind the bar went out of her way to get us sorted. We sat in a corner, our choice we were offered a table in the restaurant, and ordered tapas, mussels and calamari. Honestly, one of the best meals we have had in ages. Made the most of a child free night and relaxed in the very pleasant atmosphere. We weren’t rushed even though we hadn’t booked. Thank you to you all, as everyone who spoke to us couldn’t have been more helpful.
I feel like Anglesey just has all the best food. We've had the best Indian, best Chinese, best fish and chips, and now the best Mediterranean / Tapas food. The name and building definitely do not give the impression that they sell tapas, and inside it is decorated more like a modern pub so unless you read the menu beforehand like we did, you wouldn't know what to expect. They were fully booked when we arrived (luckily we had also booked a table) which was already a good sign. Had to wait a couple of minutes for our table to be ready but got brought through to the lovely atmospheric dining area to be seated.
As you can expect from somewhere selling Mediterranean food, they had Estrella on tap along with other good brands. Big selection of spirits, wines, and other alcohols. We ordered drinks which were quickly brought out. The restaurant must still be adhering to some COVID guidelines as we weren't given individual menus. Instead, each table was presented with a chalkboard with the menu written on. As well as this, not all tables were filled so they must have been staggering the bookings to ensure there weren't too many people in at one time.
For the 4 of us, we ordered one hanging kebab skewer (lamb) and the other 3 ordered 3 tapas plates each. We had 2x king prawns, 2x beef cheek (which I believe was a 'special'), 2x calamari, 1 chorizo, 1 patatas bravas, and 1 chicken wings. Now when I say this is some of the best food we've ever eaten, I mean it. Every mouthful was incredible.
The beef cheek was so incredibly tender, the king prawns were massive and full of flavour, and the calamari was not rubbery in the slightest (something I find you get quite often at restaurants if it's cooked too much). The lamb from the kebab was also so tender and cooked to perfection. The chips are the best kind of chips that are really crispy on the outside then very fluffy in the middle. The coleslaw was also great.
Everything is clearly cooked fresh by very talented kitchen staff. The menu is quite small in terms of options but it just goes to show how they've perfected the items that are on offer. We've been to Benllech about 6-7 times and never thought to try the Beachcomber until this year and we're so mad we never tried it before!! Definitely going to be a place we come to again when we're next in the area. Just for reference, they do request a deposit when booking a table which gets taken off the final bill when paying.
We had various tapas which were very nice especially the prawns and beef cheeks decent value and filling. Nice churros also.
Just a reminder for some guests, tapas are small plates, not a main meal on there own. I say this because the lady next to us moaned, complained, berated the waitress and tried to embarrass her by saying “she’s travelled the world” and “I speak my mind “ when complaining her main meal which was one Tapas was too small and had no complements. Maybe travelling the world might have taught this lady what tapas is.
Keep up the good work guys 👍
Fabulous. Simply fabulous. The food here is the best we had on the Isle of Anglesey. Fantastic value and bursting with flavour. You must Ty this place.
The hanging lamb was really wonderful with a lovely mint dip. Accompanied with chips and salad it was a great meal. We also had a couple of Tapas dishes as a starter.
Chairs could be a little more comfortable but otherwise a rewarding experience. Owner was very helpful and attentive.
Excellent restaurant, food, service, team, atmosphere. We messed up re our arrival time - this was managed efficiently and in a friendly manner. Thank you.
Very small inside. Noise levels are uncomfortable.. For some reason. Friendly helpful staff. Limited choice food tasty though. Need to book
Fantastic! Highly recommend! We had a selection of tapas, mussels and grilled skewers followed by fresh churros and Spanish almond tart, all was fantastic! A small menu done perfectly, welcoming friendly stafa lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be returning.
Four of us dined here and absolutely loved it.
Had a great spot right in front of the log burner which the owner helped us to set the tables up.
Food was excellent and the atmosphere great.
Had the hanging chicken kebabs, glazed chicken on the flat breads and pizza which we all enjoyed.
Thanks for an enjoyable night.
Will return.
Food was excellent. Everyone of us eat the plate clean. Definitely go agin
We really enjoyed the tapas and pizza here. Very friendly and welcoming.
Service was amazingly good & the food was delicious. The front of the bar / restaurant doesn't do this place justice as it is a real hidden gem.
Absolutely amazing restaurant with welcoming staff and are very passionate about there food and gin. The food was mouth watering and me and my family loved it and we even may have had a few to many to drink.i would defently come back here. Thank you all 😀
Went here for dinner, and had an absolutely first-class experience. Service was absolutely excellent, I've never had food come to the table so quickly. The servers were helpful and friendly. The food was some of the best I've ever had. The hanging skewers were beautifully juicy and tender, and the tapas was simply bursting with flavour. One of our servers recommended the churros for desert, and we took her up on this recommendation. Our trust was rewarded, as they were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Not only was the whole experience incredible, but the food and drinks are reasonably priced - we had 2 starters, 2 mains, tapas, 2 deserts and a bottle of wine, which came to £100. I have no complaints, and I could not recommend this place more. If you are in Benllech you have to come here, but book in advance as they are a small establishment in high demand - for good reason!
This lovely family owned restaurant was a great find. Very friendly owner/staff and the food was delicious. Everything is obviously home made and the garlic bread is fantastic (same dough is used for pizzas). The tapas were freshly made and the squid was perfect. Very reasonably priced too.
Amazing food at this hidden gem. If you like good quality food this is the place to go. Pre book is advised.
12 of us ate here and no one was disappointed. The hanging skewers were particularly a hit.
Would definitely recommend.
