Staff very friendly and catering was excellent as I have a gluten intolerance/allergy and helped me to find a meal that would be suitable for me even with certain changes. The kindness and atmosphere of the restaurant was excellent. Donna (worker) was really helpful and kindhearted. Only one problem we experienced with the lack of space between seating and table on table 5 as it was fairly cramped. Overall excellent restaurant and would definitely recommend

The refurbishment looks great. Food was lovely, new items added to sald bar since we last visited which were tasty. Staff were friendly, Katie was our waitress today she was very welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. Rocky horror waffle was a great end to our meal.

Love the new decoration at the Tarpot. So clean and welcoming. All the staff are friendly and efficient. Nothing is too much trouble. William served us and even though it was only his second day on the job he did a good job. Food was excellent. Love the choice on the salad bar and the array of dressings.

Could easily be better. We were given a jug and glasses for water. When I poured it in, it was all cloudy. Maybe the jug or the glasses weren't clean. Had to return them and get glasses with no jug. Also, there was no cutlery or napkins on my table (family of 4). I had to get some myself from the other table. Would go again, food was good, salad bar a little limited to previous times but still nice, especially for the kids. Does look nicer in there too, since the refurbishment but needs to be regularly cleaned as the kids touch everything and it was dusty.

The food was beautifully cooked and big portions. We had the most wonderful waiter William he went above and beyond and nothing was too much trouble. A wonderful experience and we will be back.

Enjoyed recently refurbished surroundings - clean and welcoming. Service was friendly and attentive but slightly chaotic from the kitchen (elements of breakfasts were missing initially, not sure we all got the toast requested, drinks took a little while to arrive and no brown sauce). Enjoyed the food though!

Went there for breakfast, food was okay, sausages could have had more flavour but for the price good all round. The service was slowish but we're understaffed, so can't blame the server she done the best she could. Overall good value for the money.

Our waitress Amber was great, attentive and helpful. We have been here several times and this was by far the best experience. Food was lovely and very well presented. The refurb has given it a much more pleasing appearance and has given it a better atmosphere too.

Best Meal in a while I haven't visited the Tarpots in years but randomly we chose to go there, booking ahead online, which was painless, parking and putting reg details in the foyer machine (also not a trauma) . The staff were friendly and efficient and arriving Sunday at 12.30 it was pleasantly quieter, although by the time we left there was a build up. You no longer pick your own salad (which I found a relief as I always worried about cross contamination before) you follow your service assistant and tell them what you would like. Being vegiatarian I had a choice of several dishes (which thankfully did not feel like afterthoughts) and chose the camembert and cherry tomato tartlet, it was devine! Jacket potato was cooked perfectly Only complaint the coleslaw was bland. My partner chose a burger in blue cheese. He too was delighted with his choice. All of the staff were exceptional and Kye was an absolute credit to himself, remaining cheerful, easy going and yet on top of everything. We do not go out to eat much and this was a well chosen treat. We never have dessert and regrettably I chose an Eton mess which I couldn't finish but my other half managed his crumble delighted. Will we go back? Yes Anything that could be improved on? This is just a minor observation reflecting on a previous meal in my hometown. Maybe a separate menu for vegans and vegitarians, with all of the options available. Other than that I could not fault it.

Had a very nice Father's Day meal here with my son & granddaughter. Disappointing fruit as only thing she could eat was the melon as blueberries not nice flavour. Also noisy but to be expected for Father's Day. On the plus side our main waitress was lovely and very attentive and our meals were delicious, served quickly and lovely and hot. Also self serve salad bar is a bonus and nice fresh bread rolls Would definitely recommend for families with younger children.

Just had lunch after the refit. Very nice food and the decor is great. The manager helped me out with a voucher problem and was incredibly helpful as was our server. Would definitely recommend a visit.

The waitresses were brilliant and the best for me is although we go normally once a week when I'm on holiday I know my 95 year old father can go there without worry and the girls Tracy Shavaungh and manageress Jane will look after him and make sure all well and that is a great comfort.

Can’t fault it really. Didn’t wait at all to be sat down at a table. I and 5 others ordered the classic breakfast, some made changes to their meals. After all of this we got our food, drink and a basket of toast/ butter reasonably quick. All the food was hot, and the service was really good. Also I would like to mention I requested a long time ago that harvester bring back the lemon blizzard, which is banging in my opinion, and they have! Thank you for that :)

Another great occasion. Staff were especially helpful with arranging seating for our guest with mobility limiting leg cast.
