Me and my close group of friends go here for a drink every now and then. The bar staff are very polite and I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting the manageress and she was absolutely lovely! Great place for food to! Would highly recommend to everyone. I go here so often the staff even know my name which is lovely as the atmosphere is always so friendly! Can't rate this place enough!

Went with a large group for a family Birthday meal. I have to say the food was stunning, the staff were attentive and efficient and the roast potatoes reminded me of traditional home cooking, just like my Nanna used to make which gave me warm memories. Definitely be back and highly recommend this warm, lovely pub.

We had our daughter's 1st Birthday party here on Saturday and couldn't have asked for anything better. The staff were fantastic and the food was amazing. We were allowed to decorate the area we was allocated and nothing was a problem. It was a day we won't forget. We would definitely recommend this venue to have any occasion. Thankyou again to everyone made it such a great day

Went for Sunday lunch & couldn't fault it. My wife & I & our 4 yr old. Food was superb. Service was excellent. All reasonably priced. An added bonus was the snowy scene outside. All made for a very enjoyable experience. Will recommend & will definitely be visiting again.

Always a funloving pub with friendly staff. lots of different music tastes catered for, from open mic nights supporting up and coming local talent, to their very popular monthly soul night (soulful seduction)... the bread and cheese is a very good example of what your local community pub is all about in this day and age!

What a super little find. Great carvery good selection of meats and veg and sides that have been given just the right amount of love and care to bring you delicious food. Came for the free film night and thought we would grab a meal before and very pleasantly surprised. Puddings were delicious and homely. Staff really went the extra mile to ensure a good experience.

Nice decor here. We ordered from the new menu which was a little pricey. I chose the beef ciabatta, the filling was tasty but the ciabatta was a bit dry. I had the cheesecake for dessert which was delicious. The service was excellent, our waitress Tabitha was delightful!

Food was great and so was the ambience but the best part was the service from the lovely young lady who was serving us today. I'm sorry I never even found out her name. She was so friendly, accommodating and so sweet with my young children. She made our lunch really enjoyable. Thank you for being so helpful and attentive!

Yesterday we decided to try a Carvery lunch meal at The Bread & Cheese pub in Thundersley. On entry the reception they gave us was very welcoming. The waitress was attentive and the service throughout our meal was excellent. The meal itself was hot and tasty. The carvery consisted of roast beef, turkey and gammon along with a vegetarian option. All the food as far as we were concerned was cooked to perfection. There was a vast choice of vegetables and lovely large Yorkshire puddings with a variety of sauces to match the meats. The desserts were a nice selection, although it would have been nice to have some fruit such as a banana spilt. I am not a lover of heavy puddings after a large meal but others may think otherwise. Anyway, I was very content with an ice cream. All throughout our meal care was taken to ensure we enjoyed it. Prices were very reasonable. We shall definitely be dinning there again in the very near future. Thank you, The Bread & Cheese for your hospitality.

This place was amazing. Food was great but the staff were amazing! We travelled over from Australia for month and made sure we returned here before we flew home. All staff were great but Molly lovely and so good with our kids.

Staff were lovely and food was very quick. Only gripe is the weird vegetarian option for the roast - fake chicken tikka masala pie? Not sure who thought that was a good idea….

Has changed owners several times in the last few years the current ones are the best by far. Went in yesterday for midweek lunch and was impressed. Has a very good selection of food on the menu, prices are a bit on the pricey side but quality was very good. I had a classic burger which was very nice and my wife who is a vegan had a noodle type stir fry which she said was great (put pictures up of both) Desserts very good too !

Went in on a Friday lunchtime with several family members. Issue with the heating in the main restaurant area, we were shown to a very comfortable and nice table in the bar instead. I initially thought the lunch menu prices were a little high. However, the meals were very substantial, well cooked and tasty. Maybe a bit too much for me, others may welcome the portions though. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Very accommodating staff and super dog friendly. The food was good but expensive! We would definitely return, though, due to the service, staff, and how clean and tidy it was 😄

3 of us girls visited early December for lunch. It was quiet, letting us chat freely. Lovely young lady answered any questions about the menu (sorry can't remember your name 3 weeks on), and attentive enough. Pleasant food but a pricey menu, so would visit again but as a treat.

Lovely little pub. Went around 3pm. Drinks nice and cheap! Food was delicious. Fish and chips best I’ve had in a pub in a while fish had some bones but I take that as fresh fish not frozen. My friend had the burger and was stunning. The chips are beautiful. Staff are lovely. Mostly left us alone which I prefer rather than staff constantly bothering you. Will definitely be coming back!!

Recently attended a function (Hen Do!) at the Bread and Cheese, and they could not be more accommodating and helpful! Really was a wonderful evening, we had a whole area to ourselves, good music with a fabulous singer, we were well looked after by Jack who was serving us and arranging drinks and food. Wanted to especially thank the chef for arranging so many dietary friendly foods for everyone, especially for myself as I’m gluten free, the chef took the time to explain all the foods that I could eat and made sure there was no cross contamination and everything was kept separate and safe for me to have! - Everyone had such a wonderful evening and we can’t thank the staff enough! - highly recommend !
