The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to make sure we had all we wanted..it was afternoon tea and the sandwiches and cakes were very nicely presented and the taste was very mouth watering the cakes were naughty but nice .it was a very nice afternoon ,well spent in a lovely place .. It's well worth a trip right within your local community...
reserved a table for 4 asked for the quieter part out the back because my mum is hard of hearing and the noise from the kitchen is difficult for her to hear over, all the people who served us were lovely,, really lovely. And the menu is so extensive and unusual, and beautifully presented, i was with my mum and my cousins from America. My mum had a huge plate of a salad with croutons, strawberries and balsalmic dressing. I had poached egg on toast, My cousin marjorie had a panini and my cousin larry had a sandwich., We all thoroughly enjoyed it and i will be coming again

A very friendly cafe with a big selection of snacks, meals and drinks. If you're a vegetarian the choice is a bit limited, but the service is very friendly and the food is good.

We visited Cafe Max today (New Year's Eve) and had the most amazing meal as always! Food was exceptional and the service is unlike any other. I feel very privileged to have worked for the Cafe several years back while completing my PhD; it's rare to find an employer that offers so much support to their employees. Both of my children have since worked for Mark and Karin and it has set them up for life in the real world. We've all said that if we could work for them forever, we absolutely would! If more employers were like them, the world would be a better place! They always make sure that the staff get 100% of the tips (a rarity in the hospitality sector nowadays). So, if you're looking to eat fabulous food in a place that truly makes you feel welcome and you know invests in their staff, this is the place to go!
