Went last night for a girly catch-up.
They gave us the booth which is separate from the rest and it’s lovely with lots of cushions. Staff are really friendly and attentive, nothing is too much trouble and the baileys shots at the end were a nice touch.
The food was lovely and a good selection in the buffet option.
Would definitely go back again.
The staff are very attentive and friendly my grandson loves it here and in he's words "they treat him like a king" he's 7 years old and been going since he was about 5 years old. The food is great

Great atmosphere, first time we went that had Indian dancers and they invited you up to join in and some of the other customers were in Indian costumes , they have special nights throughout the year , on other nights they have live music , great 80's mucic .
Most importantly the food was the best I've had couldn't fault it .
Best Tandoori Mixed Grill in Essex. Friendly staff, lively atmosphere. All-you-can eat buffet and takeaway also available. Even has a 1970s-style disco floor with lights! Right on.
Brilliant food! I was just driving past and saw it. I stopped and asked if they could make me a traditional chicken tikka masala. They have been super helpful.Rocky asked the chef to give me something to try,to see if I like the taste! The cheft has been so kind,he prepared a dish especially for me,put it in a bowl,with lovely rice on side.
The taste,DIVINE! The best chicken tikka masala I had in UK. I have previoulsy had it abroad,the closest one to the traditional one,that I’ve had,was in Dubai. This is Dubai’s taste,in Essex! Absolutely amazing! Thank you!
Went on a Tuesday evening so wouldn’t expect fireworks when it comes to atmosphere, but it wasn’t empty. The decor is quite plush and Indian music in the background adds to the ambience. The waiters were very pleasant and attentive and the food, although a little salty, was otherwise excellent.
They have a very impressive dance floor of which they are rightly proud and I expect it comes into its own on busy nights.
Cannot believe I found this hidden gem! Food was amazingly well balanced, and Front of House Manager Sam couldn't stop singing praises for the Executive Chef Trilochen, which was, in my words, an understatement as the food captured the essence of India without the over bearing heat and spice level. Tried the chicken tikka biryani and lemon chicken tikka, and I myself joined the wagon with Sam in singing praises. Great banter with staff who were very helpful and polite. Kudos. Would love to see something like this in London. To top it off, they have a shisha lounge!
We were looked after by Rocky & what a brilliant place to come! Great food, staff & atmosphere. Would highly recommend coming here whether it’s for drinks or food. The new Shisha lounge is amazing & cannot wait to come back!
I celebrated my birthday here with a few close friends on Sunday afternoon, and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. We really enjoyed our time, especially being seated at the VIP area, which was nice and cosy. The food, service and atmosphere were all great and I would highly recommend this place to others. I have been here a few times now, for both their buffet and a la carte, and have never been disappointed. I will certainly come back again.

Some of the best food about. If you’re looking for a proper curry this is the place. Come down on the weekend and got the buffet and it’s only fair to say it was one of the best curries I’ve had. Will be going back.
It's always a great time when dining here... especially now they have a brand new Shisha Lounge! The atmosphere is always buzzing and both the waiting staff and people who dine there are great! I never really leave reviews because places don't go above and beyond, however Maharaja is truly one of a kind! From the staff, to the food, to the beautiful interior and vibe, I couldn't recommend this place enough! They have never failed to make the experience personal and friendly and go that extra step to make sure you have a great time! 🙌
Lovely restaurant with great decor. I am very impressed with the service, they all looked us very well. The food was delicious, made exactly to our special request. We ended up ordered our starters twice, it was so good! Definitely recommend.
