This is a little gem of a place, my friend and I were in the area today and stopped for tea and a scone (best scones ever, cherry and almond warm from the oven). After we'd been to Ashington we thought we'd have a late lunch before heading back to the Borders so we went back again friendly staff, delicious reasonably priced food and a lovely setting. Pay a visit if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed
What a lovely afternoon. 2 adults /2nippers. Impromptu visit.
Great food, coffee top ups, posh hot chocolates, hot scones straight from the oven and really nice gluten free options. Courteous and friendly staff! We will be back!
We have been going for years as a family and it is an excellent coffee shop. Great location in the countryside, friendly staff and mostly importantly good food. I would highly recommend it. Also good disabled access and plenty of parking
Went for the first time normally go to milkhope as the norm excellent food and services as it was sunny we sat outside with the dog very good definitely recommend and will go again
The staff in Blacksmiths coffee shop are lovely and friendly. The latte coffee is good and the caramel slice is delicious. :)
Lovely food, nice atmosphere, highly recommend this cafe.
Visited for first time yesterday, lovely food, and best hot chocolate! Will definitely be back.
Lovely food and atmosphere highly recommend ❤️
Amazing rocky roads, malteser slices and savoury items. Coffee refills. Wood burning stove. Warm and friendly staff.
We had a great time here. Delicious food and fantastic atmosphere. Lousy weather outside, warm and comfortable inside. Good service and very friendly atmosphere. Thank you very much!
A cosy and pleasant place to stop off for a coffee en route to Wallington Hall or Belsay Hall. The almond and cherry scones with raspberry jam are amazing!
Good food and great service.
Visited on 11/10/23. Very nice. Food was good and will be going again in the future. Staff friendly enough and service was good.
Car parking available and toilet downstairs. My only gripe was that it was quite noisy. It was fairly busy. In the village of Belsay on the way up to Otterburn 👍
The ideal place for a pitstop after an outdoor adventure.
The staff are happy to help, and the food and drink is good, while prices are reasonable.
The location is also convenient, with free parking available.
Blacksmith's was also quite busy when we visited, which is always a good sign.
Always when we came of the ferry in NewCastle this is our breakfast stop
The fresh pies and scones are delicious its our holiday treat.
Excellent coffee shop with a great atmosphere and lovely home cooked food.
A Latte and a white chocolate and raspberry scone was my choice today - highly recommended!
Not a bad coffee shop. Limited cake/dessert offerings, but they were tasty. Seating area inside and outside were also clean and good. The views across the countryside were great (it was a sunny day!).
I did like the bottomless filter coffee option.
Lovely little place and firm favourite for us both now.
Prawn sandwiches are delicious
My family and I came here for breakfast before we headed back up the road at the end of our holiday. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We ordered with ease, poached egg and smoked salmon and panini. Both of these dishes were absolutely fantastic. And we took away some cakes with us too.
All in all excellent place would highly recommend.
What a little find after being wet and cold. The staff were absolutely lovely. The sandwich was fresh as was the home made cake which was delicious and the coffee hit the spot to warm us up. Would really recommend finding this place.
Lovely place, with lovely view of the countryside, food very nice too.
It’s very difficult to find a table in here no matter what day of the week or time of day you visit, this is testament to how popular and well loved it is! I hadn’t managed to eat here for many years since I can never get a table however when me and my friend visited on Tuesday afternoon we managed to find a table after a short wait. We each had the broccoli, brie and bacon quiche served with salad and chutney and it was absolutely gorgeous, probably the best quiche I’ve ever had and it all tasted homemade. We then had filter coffees and shared a slice of Victoria sponge cake which was decent but the quiche with salad was definitely the highlight! I’ll definitely be coming back soon to try another quiche, soup or perhaps a panini, you can’t go wrong though no matter what you choose as all the food seems to be of very high quality and proportionately priced - I didn’t find it cheap but nor was it expensive. I can’t wait for my next visit!
