We came as a group of 8 for Sunday lunch. Space is a little small but beautifully decorated. We all had starters which were nice, although the spring rolls were a little oily and a small portion. The mushroom starter was delicious. As for the roast, the potatoes were rather hard and there was only a little small ball of stuffing, other than that, it was lovely. As for dessert, the dark chocolate cheesecake was very good, but the base was very crumbly, not very set. I will also say parking is extremely limited, we all had to park in side streets. As a whole, would come back as it was good and a great ambiance!
Dropped in here without a booking and managed to get a table! Food was absolutely stunning. The steak was cooked to perfection. Loved the sides of the steak too. My partner had the burger which was also amazing.
The staff was so friendly. Definitely would recommend a visit. Will be back.

The Palfrey at New Inn is an absolute gem! I can't say enough about the wonderful atmosphere and the mouth-watering food they serve.

Absolutely top-level experience! Firstly, the menu is to die for, kudos to the chef and/or menu developer - I wanted one of everything. Service was attentive and helpful from the start, the interior is beautiful. Couldn't fault the food, the four of us said every element was delicious. Would love to come back and see how the menu changes with the seasons. Favourites to call out, the Blackberry & Ginger Julep mocktail, Chinese pork cubes, Bistro rump with the red onion rings and truffle fries. Heaven!
Beyond impressed! The food was lovely and the staff where so approachable and I felt they really cared about our dining experience. They always mad sure the food was to our liking and if we needed anything else to improve our dining experience. As one of my guests was a celiac they took extra care when relaying the information to the chefs! We greatly appreciate this. I would definitely recommend, I will be coming here again in the near future!
Absolutely excellent Sunday lunch for a party of 11. Delicious food with quality ingredients and good portion sizes. Friendly servers and staff, useful off-road parking.
We booked in for Sunday lunch,the food was without a doubt the best Sunday lunch we've had in a very long time, the staff were friendly and courteous, the building itself is well presented and decorated and I would definitely recommend it to anyone,we will certainly be returning again and again...
Wonderful service and excellent food and drinks!
I had the soup of the day (tomato and roasted pepper) and the days special for main which was a cod fillet with truffle pesto tagliatelle and pickled chilli, both of which were perfect.
My fiancé had the artichoke starter and Derbyshire beef main and thoroughly enjoyed both.
The prices are incredibly reasonable, in terms of quality vs value for money I think it's hard beaten anywhere in the Midlands.
Shall certainly be returning.
My absolute favourite restaurant in Derby. Been several times now and had home delivery from them during lockdown. Staff are all absolutely awesome, food is mind blowing, and the cocktails downstairs in the bar are to die for. Its our go-to date night venue 🥰
The service is phenomenal! I was so impressed, it was full at the time but the service was swift and efficient.
The food was fantastic, while the current outdoor menu is limited, our starter and steaks were incredible! Note the pork belly cubes with sweet potato ketchup does come as a 4 but I was too greedy before taking the photo!
The outdoor eating area is in a courtyard. It was covered, 3ish tables had overhead head heating. To see then menu you have to either scan a QR code or Google it as I suspect many restaurants are doing to reduce contact. You can hire blankets with a returnable £10 deposit.
I highly recommend The Palfrey and look forward to returning myself soon.
We had a fantastic meal this evening. Gorgeous drinks, excellent service and the food was beautiful, great variety and all expertly cooked. It was a huge treat for us but totally worth the money. We were actually pleasantly surprised by the price! We will definitely be back!

Celebration lunch for two milestone birthdays in the family. A really lovely experience, great food and very attentive service. Highly recommend a visit. A very memorable occasion for us all.
Had to request they clean our table before we ate. It was very, very sticky, and there were crumbs all around the condiments in the centre of the table. There aren't so many choices for gluten free eating and the desserts even less so. It was our second time here and the first was by far better than this time. Just lazy things that if remedied would lift this place.

Wow..only stopped off randomly on my way through ..parking off raid just to the left of the pub .Great little menu.food was fantastic..home grown/made items on the menu..staff all polite and etc helpful..lovely decor and surroundings..food reasonably priced .. the taste was beautiful. You can tell the chef carse about his/herself food ..I will be back !

We overheard someone order a Sticky Toffee Pudding so we did, enjoyed that one…and then ended up ordering another straight after it was so good!!
This restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food was fantastic, excellent quality and reasonably priced. The only thing that stopped me giving 5 stars on this occasion was that there was a big party in and we kind of felt like we weren't as important. This showed in the service. This was acknowledged by the staff and I'm sure on any other occasion the service would be perfect. I'll have to return and try again!
