Lovely atmosphere, sells bread, rolls, alcohol, meals, variety of teas and coffees, very homely, baby changing, inside downstairs and upstairs eating, very pretty, polite and friendly staff, card payments accepted, beautiful cakes, slightly costly but delicious 😋

Popped in for lunch. The food was good, the staff were friendly and the cafe/deli was a nice place to be (even alone). I didn't have anything from the deli counter but there were pies, quiches, meats, olives, stuffed peppers, cheeses and much more. There was also lots of amazing looking homemade cakes and fresh breads. Will definitely be back to sample some of that quiche!

Great little deli. Excellent coffee and wide choice of meals and snacks. Eat in or takeaway. All their produce is locally sourced.

We visited whilst on holiday in the area. Great coffee, fantastic cake (tip: Victoria sponge & Lemon Drizzle), and fresh & tasty paninis (tip: pork & stuffing; pesto & mozzarella). Nice street-side seating on a quiet street with architecturally interesting Belper-esque buildings. Would recommend for a visit.

Fantastic food, good deli, excellent bread and great staff. Always a pleasure eating here. Take out food/preserves/tipple is also a winner in every respect too! They serve one of the best breakfasts around, but also have plenty of cakes to accompany you coffee if you're just after a natter. Building is the old railway station and as such is packed full of character and original ironworks. Can't rate this place more!

Wonderful local deli, very popular with locals and visitors. Traditional Derbyshire oatcake breakfasts, deli sandwiches, ploughman's lunch, big selection of homemade cakes..All very generous portions! Mezzanine floor with tables. Get there early, or late afternoon to guarantee a table as it's usually really busy

This place never looses its appeal even though social distancing and a reduced menu has been put on place. Had a massive turkey and brie sandwich with salad, slaw and crisps - had to take half of it home!

Probably the best full English in Derbyshire! Can get very busy, but seats upstairs give you great views of this vintage style restaurant. The Deli and cake counter are both awesome too!

Been coming here since it opened, and introduced many others to it as well. The best cafe in Belper, with amazing cakes and food, great value for money, the friendliest staff... an absolute gem. So glad to have Fresh Basil in the village!

Always pop in here for a George Stafford black pudding to take back home (actually half a dozen as many friends share Rick Stein and Delia Smith's view on their quality). Lovely place for a breakfast or lunch too and reasonably priced for the quality.
