Have stayed at the Purdy over 50 time's over the last 15 years and in all that time I have enjoyed every stay. The rooms the food and the staff have always been A1. Was there last night I ordered the fish and chips was a struggle to finish, was a big peace of fish. Young lady on the bar and serving in the restaurant was on the ball. It's a very friendly place staff are always helpful. It's not a 5 star hotel so if you want 4 star treatment stay at the Purdy, you won't be disappointed.

What a lovely place. Clean, friendly and helpful. I emailed to see what time booking in was. 3pm but was told our room was ready so were welcome as soon as we wanted to get there. Evening meal was fantastic. Breakfast was spot on. Room was clean and had hospitality tray. Thank you Joanne and other staff for making us so welcome. Highly recommend

Purdy Lodge has lovely bedrooms all with en-suite with stunning views of the Northumberland Coast Line to Bamburgh Castle.....It has a fabulous bar & the restaurant is open 11am to 9pm for sumptuous meals, it has a bright & clean reception area, & also Cafe One which is open 24/7, it has first class staff both through the day and night who treat you as a priority & with respect.... Definitely 5 * plus......

We stopped to use the chargers. Loads of choice and not overpriced. It was a bit dirty, something sticky got on my plate which wasn't pleasant but there was evidence of cleaning being done so maybe we came in at a bad time.

Stopped for dinner on our way home. We ordered the delicious Gammon steak with pineapple, peas and skin on chips, Balmoral chicken, and baked cod with skin on chips. Dogs are allowed in the bar area, which has limited seats so may be worth a phone ahead to reserve a table.

Food is okay and tastes okay, and the staff are friendly and welcoming albeit limited staff at the checkout counter. The atmosphere is great and it’s perfect if you want some peace and quiet.

Great impromptu Sunday roast here. Dropped in without booking, no problem getting a table as it was after the busy time. Lovely roast pork with crackling and toast potatoes, carrots, Cauliflower, mash, gravy and a Yorkshire pudding. They're even dog friendly!

You know you are in safe hands when you are asked...How gluten free are you? When you say coeliac, they say..We can cook everything you can have in the breakfast in a separate pan and do your gluten free toast under the grill. Thank you Purdy Lodge.

The restaurant and food are alright, however, the car park outside is badly damaged with potholes and it is made of badly done gravel. Otherwise, it is a good place to stop for a bite to eat while driving.

Food was pretty good, and for a hotel, it was reasonably priced, as were the drinks, and it's dog friendly. It felt there wasn't enough staff, so the ones on duty were great, but they were always very busy, and this did affect the level of service.

We stopped here about 7 hours in to our drive and were looking forward to lunch. There is a decent sized car park and it is next to a petrol station too. The menu has a good range of options and service was friendly. Unfortunately we arrived just after a coach party so we had a bit of a wait for our food but it was a good sized portion when it did arrive and well cooked. Good value too.

Nice clean establishment reasonable prices. Girl serving didn't now that you could get a refill for a £1.00 until I pointed it out on the sign. Smile and the world smiles with you ...🙂
