Reviews Well House Coffee Shop

Staying on Holy Island this week for my significant birthday we decided to get up early to catch the tide for the causeway crossing and have breakfast at the Well House after reading favourable reviews. Unfortunately we arrived an hour too early and killed time in the Northumbrian dreek, loitering in the Co-op and peering in shop windows until the cafe opened. We were not disappointed. A warm welcome, a breakfast each, toast and copious amount of coffee at a very reasonable price. A place to remember we decided.... Afterwards we drove to Chilingham and then on to Bamburgh sands. Of course after a few miles walking we'd worked up an appetite but where to go for a bite to eat? After consideration it was agreed that the Well House was the best option, particularly after spying the lemon meringue pie earlier - and so our second visit of the day was made for tuna melt, quiche lorraine, lemon meringue pie and a pot of tea. Put it on your list for when you're passing you will not be disappointed.

Lovely cafe in the centre of Belford, well worth a visit if you're in the area or passing by on the nearby A1. Nice cosy interior and also an outside patio area at the rear of the building. Staff are all welcoming and friendly and service came with a smile. In addition to the printed menu, there is a specials board with a variety of extra meals and delicious cakes. All our meals were cooked perfectly and portion sizes were very generous. Note: this cafe is cash only as a payment method.

Went into the lovely village of Belford today and went into the well house coffee shop. Me & my wife ordered breakfast which was absolutely delicious best black pudding I have ever tasted. Lovely little cafe all meals are home cooked, Great welcoming staff would definitely recommend to anybody wanting a tasty meal. They accept cash only however there is a Co op around the corner which has a cash point machine.

Nice little coffee shop very popular when we visited with a couple of tables free. We enjoyed our paninis and cold drinks. We took away a cake and shared it as they are super sized and may I say very delicious.

Brilliant little Gem in Belford! Great down to earth grub and cakes with no fanciness but all the flavour! Worth the visit and reasonable prices. Note: Only except cash, but don't worry there is a cash machine round the corner at Co-Op.

A lovey coffee shop. Had a afternoon tea for 4 plenty to eat, very tasty nice surroundings. The staff are very nice and friendly. Would definitely eat there again and would recommend it if your passing though Belford or even travelling on the A1. Take a break with a short detour and have a lovely cup of tea or coffee.

Called in Saturday for a takeaway coffee and got a couple of Scones. Quite possibly the best cheese, bacon and leek scones we've ever had. Friendly and helpful staff as well
